Pavitra and Dhruval, Ahmedabad
Breathtaking floral decor and creative design concepts gave them the wedding of their dreams!
It was a chance meeting at a social do that led to the beginning of Pavitra and Dhruval’s story. A friend request online paved the way to endless conversations. Love blossomed and the two decided to tie the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony.
The bride tells us about her big day.
How they met
“Dhruval and I were introduced by common friends at a social gathering after which we connected on social media. We got talking and in a matter of a few months, we had become good friends. As we got to know each other better we realised we had a lot in common. For us the transition from friendship to a relationship was so seamless, we hardly realized when we fell in love!”
Wedding functions
Mehendi
“We wanted our mehendi to be bright and youthful. So we picked a decor concept that relied on vibrant hues. There were dream catchers and tassels as key elements.
Because this was a relaxed event, we knew everyone would have a fair amount of time to indulge in a few fun activities. So we invited a tarot reader and had a photo booth. Our DJ set a lively tone for the evening with his rocking playlist.
I wore an Arpita Mehta ensemble to this event while Dhruval chose an outfit from Virtues.”
Sangeet
“For the sangeet, we decorated Dhruval’s farmhouse in a way that exuded a romantic appeal. The path to the venue was flanked by walls of candles and featured a ceiling that was smothered with vines, leaves and flowers. Against the stage we had a large LED backdrop and the seating arrangements included chairs and vintage wooden picnic benches. The night saw many performances and I had a blast dancing away in my gorgeous lehenga by Nadine Dhody.”
Wedding
“While the day I had been waiting for all my life was finally here, my emotions were a mix of excitement and nervousness. I had planned everything from my entry song to the decor. As I arrived for the varmala ceremony, my friends held smoke bombs aloft. When it was time for me to make my way to the mandap, my family held a phoolon ki chaadar above me. As this happened, a group of pandits next to the canopy chanted shlokas creating a sense of spirituality and serenity.
I wore a red lehenga by Sabyasachi on my big day and Dhruval opted for a sherwani by Shyamal & Bhumika.”
Reception
“Our wedding invitations bore the logo of two lovebirds. At our reception, we let them take center stage, quite literally. The stage backdrop carried a design inspired by this logo and was completed using flowers in different hues. We were welcomed by our family bearing cold pyros to mark our entrance. The function ended with a meet and greet with all our guests.
I wanted to go for a contemporary yet classic look and chose a blush lehenga by Sabyasachi which was exactly in order. Dhruval wore a suit by Jade Blue.”
Advice For Couples
“1. Be organized right from the start. Maintain a diary where you note down everything related to the wedding. Make a checklist of all that needs to be included.
2. Delegate responsibilities and be open to ideas from your family and friends.
3. Don’t forget to have fun! In the end it’s all about creating memories with your loved ones.”
