Prathana and Varut, Bangkok, Thailand
Prathana and Varut’s Bangkok wedding made the lovely Dev Mandir in Thailand's capital buzz with traditional rituals and revelry.
Prathana and Varut’s sweet love story led them to host a grand wedding. A range of colors, themes, and exquisite floral arrangements made the occasion bloom with elegance and energy. Here, we share highlights of their lavish nuptials that were beautifully captured by WeddingSutra Favourite – Koro Films.
How We Met
Prathana and Varut first bumped into each other when they started college together. They started dating, and after ten years of being in a relationship, they tied the knot. There was no dramatic or surprise proposal, and the couple decided to focus on planning and to pull off a wedding of their dreams.
The couple decided to host their pre-wedding functions at Amari Watergate Bangkok and Bangkok Hotel Lotus Sukhumvit in Thailand. They chose to tie the knot at the serene and sacred Dev Mandir Bangkok. Prathana and Varut planned the celebrations carefully and worked closely with the staff at each venue to make their dream wedding a success.
The glitzy celebrations commenced with the sangeet ceremony at Amari Watergate Bangkok. There were performances by friends and family, and hit tracks spun by the DJ kept everyone on their feet till late into the night. Prathana looked ethereal in a pink lehenga, and Varut wore a classy emerald bandh gala ensemble.
The decor at the mehndi was a panorama of bright colors that brought to life the indoor section of Bangkok Hotel Lotus Sukhumvit . The theme for this function was ethnic, and the decor was colorful and vibrant with fresh blooms arranged artistically all over. Prathana looked radiant in a yellow lehenga paired with statement jewellery.
The haldi, which was held on the morning of the wedding day, was an intimate function which only their near and dear ones attended. This was followed by the ‘chooda’ (bridal bangles) ritual for the bride. The mandap was beautifully decorated with lush floral arrangements and drapes. The wedding ceremony took place in the afternoon which ensured that the rest of the evening was relaxing for their guests. Prathana dazzled in a red lehenga which she paired with gorgeous traditional jewellery, and Varut looked regal in a beige and gold sherwani.
Advice for Couples
“It is important to plan well if you want to make your dream wedding a reality. Try and have a theme for the celebrations so that the pictures look stunning. Choosing the right photographer is essential even if that involves paying a little extra since the pictures will be with you for your lifetime.”
