Priyanka and Piyush, JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu
This couple’s wedding vows included a promise to protect their furry friends.
Priyanka and Piyush fell in love with each other as they explored the picturesque outdoors of Oregon. Keeping in line with the natural backdrops that nurtured their growing feelings, the two decided to get married on the open lawns of JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. WeddingSutra Favorite – Dreamcatchers Photography, captured their big day in a series of emotive and impactful photographs.
How They Met
“After graduating as engineers, we both started working at Intel in Oregon. This happened in 2015. It was through a common circle of friends that we first met. Oregon is a state full of beautiful landscapes and there are many outdoor activities. We both discovered our love for hiking in the summer of 2016. We started taking trips together every weekend, growing closer with every new adventure. We discovered that we made a great team. Somewhere along the way, we realized our feelings for each other and have been on many more adventures ever since.”
“We had been chasing the Northern Lights all evening in Fairbanks with little luck. Tired, we went back to our hotel where Piyush kept checking his phone for notifications on the weather. An hour later he said the words that I was dreading: ‘It looks good. Let’s give it one more shot.’ We threw on our warm clothes and headed out into the freezing night. It was a quiet drive and the silence finally broke with him pointing to something out the window. He said, ‘It’s right there. Do you see it?’. I couldn’t see anything. When we finally managed to get a good view I realized what I was looking at was not fog, it was what we were after all this time: The Aurora Borealis! Just when I thought the ridiculous frenzy was over, he took me over to the side of the car, got down on one knee and pulled a box out of his pocket in which sat a ring. He smiled at me and then said, ‘Will you marry me, Priyanka?’ I was in complete disbelief for a moment and then finally said ‘YES!’”
“We were very keen on having an outdoor wedding, held in December in Mumbai. We are both outdoorsy people who prefer natural views over indoor decor. JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu was the perfect location and fit all our requirements.”
“We decided on DreamCatchers Photography as we loved the photos we saw on their Instagram account. The style of photography, the focus on emotions and the light compositions were mindblowing. When we contacted them, not only were they very professional about the scheduling but they also understood our expectations about our wedding.
Punit Desai reached out to us a few days before the wedding and wanted to get to know us. He even made fantastic recommendations for our decorations to help accentuate the beauty of our outfits! On the day of the event, we could easily see the amount of work that each of their team’s members put in. Every single one of their photographers was extremely humble and knew what they wanted to achieve in their shots. We had a lot of fun doing photoshoots with them before and after each event. The hard work that they put in resulted in brilliant photographs and videos!
My personal preference for makeup is minimal and natural, and Neeta Kapoor from Makeovers By Neeta knew exactly how to achieve that. She understood what I wanted and matched it with what would look good on me. Every single look that she gave me was an effort to enhance my features as well as the outfit that I was wearing. All her hard work paid off and I received tons of compliments!
National Decorators offered us the most competitive prices for decorations. They were accommodating of a lot of our requests and everything looked exquisite.”
“Our wedding day was the most special to us. The ceremony was conducted by Dyana Prabodhini of Pune. Our favorite part of the wedding vows was when we were asked to make a promise to help all living beings and to contribute our resources to organizations that are against animal cruelty. We thought that was very meaningful and we have tried to stay true to that since the wedding.
The wedding was hosted on the lawns of the hotel. During the ceremony, we could hear the peaceful sound of the waves in the background and feel the gentle breeze from the sea. It was just the perfect place for us to get married.”
“The traditional wedding was followed by an elegant reception where I wore a pale pink lehenga. The makeup was the perfect and complemented the outfit – it was a fitting finale look!”
