How they met
Business partners and wedding planners Raghvi Sampath and Nalin Kumar decided to take their relationship to the next level after 4 years of dating and tied the knot in a celebration that honored their story, traditions, and personal tastes. The duo runs the Chennai-based wedding planning company Melam Thalam together. While Nalin also owns and operates a fitness center alongside, Raghvi is a video content creator and Instagram Influencer.

Wedding Planning
Wedding planners by profession, the couple planned their wedding with the help of their team at Melam Thalam. For the beach destination wedding, they envisioned Shelter Beach Resort in Mahabalipuram for its stunning oceanfront vibe and lush spaces.

Talking about the experience they share, “The most challenging part of our wedding was the rainy weather in Chennai. We were all drenched while commuting between the halls and rooms, and even 30 minutes before our reception we had a heavy spell of rain. However, we planned for an alternative stage with minimal coverage and arranged for umbrellas for our guests. Eventually, it stopped raining, and we got our beautiful celebration.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi
The festivities kicked off with a lively, sunkissed haldi ceremony that was imbued with traditions and fun in equal measure. The minimalistic decor of marigolds and drapes in bright yellow set a vibrant tone as the couple and their loved ones had a gala time performing the ceremony, playing with water, phoolon ki holi, and even a Matka-breaking ritual. The bride and groom eschewed typical yellow attire for white outfits.

Advice for couples
“Yes your wedding is the happiest experience of your life, but there is no denying how hectic it can be to plan and execute. From handling differences of opinion to criticism, coming up with alternate backup plans, honoring family traditions, and more, a lot needs to be kept in mind when finalizing the venue, decor, outfits, gifts, and more. It is important to give yourself enough time to do everything well. When done with patience and consideration, the planning can be also an incredibly joyous experience”.
