How They Met
The blushing bride shares, “We first met at a common friend’s birthday party where we both were introduced in a busy setting of less than twenty people present I must’ve made a lasting impression as he remembered my name and started following me on Instagram. It wasn’t until we got introduced to each other through our parents that it struck me about our first meeting. Since we had a common friend, we both agreed to meet. Being skeptical about the whole arranged marriage setup, we decided to take things slow. Much to our surprise, we ended up liking each other so much, that we found excuses to plan back-to-back dates. And things picked up from there.”

The Proposal
Rashmi shares as she reminisces the exciting proposal, “He took me to one of those Mystery Escape Rooms where we were locked in and had to solve clues to move from one room to another. The final clue ended up leading me to a ring. He picked it up, got down on his knee, and asked me, ‘Let’s solve life together?’”

Living in Mumbai, we both wanted to have a destination wedding while keeping in mind the proximity of our close ones. with the help of Q Events We narrowed down on Hyatt Regency Pune and were impressed by their hospitality and flexibility. The EQ:IQ venue they offered us was an expansive space, perfect for hosting various functions.

Wedding Planning
The team at Q Events and Weddings is absolutely the best. They put their heart and soul into our wedding. Always brimming with brilliant ideas, they executed every event of ours flawlessly. We will forever be grateful to them for pulling off the wedding of our dreams so seamlessly. In order to make it convenient for all our guests, they helped us get cardholders that could stick at the back of their phones to help them safely carry the room keys with them. During the baraat, their team handed over nathnis to all the ladies in the house. They coordinated with the guests and got them to wear sneakers with their western outfits for the after-party to make the evening super comfortable for them”, shares the bride.

Wedding Functions

Mehndi
The wedding kickstarted with a Caribbean-themed brunch decked with soft pastel blue drapes, lots of flowers, and cabana-style seating since the bride grew up in the Caribbean. The function that was initially meant to be a lowkey mixer for people to acquaint over beer, sangria, and rum cocktails, saw an enthusiastic turnout. On the D-day, they realized the entire weekend was going to be a dry weekend. The groom, along with the prompt team of Q Events and Weddings arranged for a DJ, a host, a foosball table, a limbo game, and a guitarist at the last minute to compensate for the lack of alcohol, and it turned out to be a raging Bollywood party. The bride was decked up in a powder blue Dinesh Malkani outfit with floral motifs, and the groom sported an uber-cool printed jacket by NM Studio.

After Party
For the after-party, the guests ditched the formals and picked their comfiest sneakers to gear up for the long haul. It was an eclectic bash where Rashmi chose a red gown from Naibah by Naionica Bahl and Siddharth wore a tuxedo. The highlight of the night was the ball pit, where they indulged their inner child by diving into the colorful pool of bright colored balls. They had also organized a bunch of other exciting things such as a photo booth, glow-in-the-dark face painting, and a gala night with Sushant Divgikar performing in his famous male and female switch voice. As a special surprise for the bride, Q Events and Weddings made an impromptu decision to have the newlyweds do their first dance to Hedwig’s Theme, and they threw snitches into the ball pit for an added effect. To keep with the theme, the sporting groom got a lightning bolt scar painted on his head from the glow-in-the-dark painting corner.
