From batchmates to soulmates, Richa and Adit hosted a charming wedding that saw her some.of her childhood dreams come true.
Richa is the marketing director of Travel N Living, and curates unique honeymoon experiences for the newlyweds. She and Adit tied the knot recently at Sofitel Mumbai BKC, and it was a wonderful occasion to celebrate their journey together – and to the different countries which saw them tumble into friendship, and then fall in love. The couple who were set to fly to Zimbabwe and South Africa for their honeymoon had to change their plans due to the coronavirus outbreak. Here, bride Richa shares some special moments from the wedding.
How They Met
“Adit and I were batchmates at the SP Jain Global Masters program. We first met in Singapore, and later traveled together to Sydney and Dubai as a part of our course requirements. Being an introvert, Adit’s presence in my life came as a blessing, and I instantly opened up to him. He tried pursuing me and gave me 30 days to respond to his proposal. I came back with a definite ‘Yes!’ We returned to Mumbai after completing the course, and dated for two years, after which we got engaged in the presence of our loved ones.
Wedding Venue
Richa shares, “Since I was a kid, I had always dreamt of walking out of my house fully dolled up in my bridal avatar. I also wanted to have my bridal photoshoot at home before taking off for the wedding venue. Since Sofitel Mumbai BKC is situated right opposite my house and was available on our proposed nuptials dates, we locked it in as our wedding venue immediately.”
Wedding Planning
“We started with wanting to host just one wedding function with no reception, but ended up celebrating seven functions, including two separate mehndi and haldi ceremonies, two cocktails, one wedding function, an after-party, and a reception!”
Wedding
The couple decorated the wedding venue by transforming it into a rustic garden that was resplendent with wild red flowers, berries, glass candelabras, and twigs coming together to form an entrance archway. Richa donned a white sequin Falguni Shane Peacock lehenga for this function, and Adit matched her look in his white sherwani featuring elegant embroidery.
Advice For Couples
“Don’t take your wedding day too seriously or try to make everything perfect. Focus on the people who are there to be with you on this ceremonious occasion and who will shower you with love and blessings. It’s the best time you’ll spend with your partner and your new family, so take it all in and celebrate the moment.”
