Their wedding marked the beginning of their future together, and WeddingSutra Favorite – 7X Weddings helped them plan it to perfection. Check out highlights of the celebrations below.

How They Met
Palash and Ruchi met each other through a common friend when Palash was visiting India on his summer break from Boston. They soon became friends until a year later when Palash moved back to India, giving them a chance to meet more often. They started meeting more often, and the small talk turned into deep conversations, and the meetings turned into dates. Within three months, they decided to spend their lives together.

The Proposal
Ruchi is a die-hard fan of Indian film director, Karan Johar and is quite filmy in real-life too. Knowing how much she loves the element of drama, surprise, and grand gestures, Palash decided to give Ruchi her grand moment. He decorated his second home with fairy lights, flowers, confetti, their photos, and captures of Ruchi with her family and close friends. He invited her best friends, sister, and cousins to be a part of the surprise too. Ruchi had no idea about the milestone that was awaiting her as she entered Palash’s dim-lit house with her favorite song playing in the background. Palash escorted her through the setup and held out placards of their story as a part of the proposal. Just as the sun started descending towards the horizon, he went down on one knee and proposed to her.

Wedding Planning
The bride and groom had always been away from home for their education, which is why they made the joint decision of hosting their wedding in their hometown, Ahmedabad. What further helped them make the choice was that the city was convenient for their loved ones. Their wedding was just as they had imagined it to be and they credited their planners 7X Weddings for it. The couple shares, “We could not have imagined the wedding festivities to have turned out the way they did without the help of 7X Weddings’ team. We are still in awe of their attention to planning, presentation, and detail. The presence of the team at the entire event allowed us to sit back and enjoy the show.”

Wedding Functions

Mehndi
“The theme for the mehndi was inspired by Punjabi culture and we hired a Punjabi troupe to perform and also made sure that all the family performances also followed the theme. We did not insist on the guests following the dress code as it gets a bit cumbersome for everyone. All in all, it was a Punjabi energy-filled function that everyone enjoyed.”

Sangeet
The couple chose a ‘Western Dance Party’ as the theme for the sangeet and impressed everyone with a ball dance performance during the ceremony. It was followed by their ring ceremony and a dance party. The highlight of the evening was a performance by popular playback singer, Rajdeep Chatterjee and his troupe. Their energetic performances got all the wedding guests grooving.

Haldi
“For the haldi, we thought about choosing a very local but extremely talented group of singers and artists managed by Mr. Neeraj Shah. It was a musical housie turned ‘antakshari’ (song competition) turned mini dance party. The theme for the ceremony included dance numbers from the 70s and 80s along with traditional Marwari songs that were performed live by the singers.”

Wedding
The wedding was built around a Royal theme, and Ruchi’s parents share, “We wanted the wedding to be royal and traditional themed for our princess. So we went with a chandeliers, fresh flowers and red velvet for the venue decor. Her bridal entry was orchestrated on a beautiful chariot with the ‘Chandan Mein’ and ‘Din Shagna Da’ songs playing in the background, both of which signified her emotions at that point. The live performances included chanting by priests who had been invited from Banaras. Sitar and violin players were also hired to perform at the reception.”
