Rupanshi and Raghav, Goa

With a tropical theme that blended seamlessly with the stunning landscape of Goa, this bride’s mehndi was a vibrant affair.

Childhood sweethearts, Rupanshi and Raghav first met in school during the ninth grade and it didn’t take them long to start dating. However, as life progressed both of them found different pursuits in life after graduation. But, as fate would have it, a few years later, Raghav’s attempts to get back in touch bore fruit and the duo picked up right where they had left off. Captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Salad who used their incredible skills behind the lens to seize a plethora of emotions, the nuptials expressed their vivacious personalities as they celebrated their union basking in the love of their family and friends.

How They Met
“We were in the same school, but it wasn’t until the ninth grade that our friendship blossomed. As we interacted with each other, it didn’t take us long to recognize the chemistry between us, and soon, we were dating. But as years passed by, we parted ways and graduated. But somehow, fate had other plans as Raghav tried to get in touch and I responded. We realized that we still loved each other and wanted to be together. Distance did intervene as Raghav started working in San Francisco, but our relationship stayed strong and eventually, he moved back to India after two years to be with me.”, shares Rupanshi.

Wedding Planning
For their elegant and vibrant destination wedding, the duo chose to go for the most popular names in the industry and roped in The Wedding Salad who’s renowned for their exceptional skills behind the camera. The happy bride shares, “Team ‘The Wedding Salad’ has done an absolutely fabulous job capturing every emotion at our wedding. We were already aware of the fact that they were amazing photographers but seeing them at work was even more awe-inspiring. We would happily work with them again.” Adding to the team were planners and decorators Purple Tree Events along with Shakkr and Pandora Box Co. who curated the wedding favors.

Weddings Functions
Welcome Dinner
“The welcome dinner was an intimate affair with a delicious spread and free-flowing drinks to keep everyone’s spirits high. As the ice broke, everyone mingled with each other freely on the first night of the nuptials itself! For the decor, however, we kept it fairly simple with delicate fairy lights hanging off a huge tree which also doubled up as a beautiful photo-op spot.”

Haldi
“Keeping tradition in mind, the Haldi, again, was a close-knit affair which was hosted in a beautiful venue decorated with various yellow hues. Cheery marigolds and sunflowers adorned the entire venue while everyone dressed up in their best yellow outfits. However, the highlight of the ceremony was when, as per conventions, Raghav’s kurta was torn off and his chest tattoo with my name was revealed to everyone! It was a truly jolly occasion, and everyone completely enjoyed themselves as they playfully doused us in turmeric.”

Mehndi
“With the boisterous Haldi ceremony completed, the Mehndi was executed with an aim to allow everyone to sit back and relax as they got henna patterned on their palms. The theme of the event was centered around how one would spend a day in Goa, replete with tropical elements like lemon, pineapple, and floral centerpieces that added a dash of vivid color to the proceedings. All the guests were requested to don lightweight and floral fabrics while they entertained themselves with games like tug of war, beer pong, and antakshari.”, shares Rupanshi.

Sangeet
“Stepping up the glamor stakes, the sangeet was replete with lush green hues and foliage which was also reflected in the backdrop and the centerpieces. However, the highlight of the occasion was the LED sign that spelled out the words ‘no limits’ which indicated that everyone should have unbridled fun throughout the event. Additionally, we implemented an ivory and gold dress code which complemented the theme and decor perfectly.”

Wedding and Reception
“I knew from my school days that I wanted to be a Sabyasachi bride and hence, keeping my lehenga shade in mind, we chose pink and red flowers for the mandap which was located on the beach. With accurate planning, we ensured that the timing of our baraat and phere was in sync with the sunset since we had always envisioned a sunset wedding for ourselves. And, I’m happy to say that we succeeded since the sky was painted in dramatic pink and orange hues as we tied the knot!

For the reception, we chose a white and gold color palette which was punctuated with rich green foliage. To entertain the guests, the band Forefront belted out amazing tunes to which everyone danced their hearts out!”, shares the exuberant bride.
