Saachi and Anirudh, Mahabalipuram
Adorned with fresh white flowers, this couple’s beachside wedding was a breezy and sunlit affair.
Set against the scenic beauty of Mahabalipuram, Chennai, Saachi and Anirudh started their ‘happily ever after’ journey in the company of their loved ones. Hailing from the ‘City of Gold’, Dubai, the North Indian bride and the Malayali groom coordinated the entire wedding from Dubai itself. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddings by Shilpa & Sonika their simple yet elegant ceremonies went seamlessly forward as the couple exchanged their vows. Giving the duo’s nuptials a dreamy vibe was the decor by WeddingSutra Favorite – Marriage Colors who made sure that Saachi and Anirudh got exactly what they had envisioned.
Located along the shores of Bay of Bengal at Mahabalipuram, Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay Mamallapuram was the perfect venue for the couple’s simple yet sophisticated ceremonies thanks to its sprawling lawns that makes one feel that they’re reaching out to the horizon. Offering 157 rooms and chalets, the resort ensured that there was plenty of space for the guests to chill and unwind as the ceremonies unfolded.
Every couple needs a reliable and efficient team to ensure that they get the wedding they’ve always dreamed of. And thankfully, Saachi and Anirudh were fortunate to have the able ‘Weddings by Shilpa and Sonika’ on their team to plan it all out. Helping the couple on the decor front was Marriage Colors who got every detail right. Adding to the team were Wedding by Alpheus who ensured each tender moment was captured on camera and Kiss-met Designs whose beautiful invites spurred the guests.
A sunlit ceremony under the cerulean blue sky, the Haldi was a cheery affair where the bride and groom were playfully dabbed with turmeric. The guests also got smeared with some in return by Saachi and Anirudh who couldn’t stop laughing as they were surrounded by playful banter. The decor was kept very simple for the occasion, and both the bride and groom chose to keep it traditional by donning light yellow kurtas.
For mehndi, the decor was kept breezy with quirky teepees by a chirpy bar and lawn diwans for the guests to relax on. The ambience was further spruced up with pastel ribbons and tassels, with flamingo props and barrels that added a rustic charm to the venue. Dominated by coral shades, the entire venue had an air of feminine charm to it which added to the casual vibe.
Dressed in a light pink and magenta gown, Saachi couldn’t stop smiling as she was surrounded by her squad while intricate henna designs were patterned on her hands. Anirudh also stopped by for a visit to take a look at his bride’s mehndi in a multicolored printed kurta.
Swathed in the color red, the Sangeet was a classy and elegant affair. The highlight of the occasion was the dance floor’s backdrop that was all lit up with ‘candle-like’ light fixtures. As the kids took to the dance floor, the happy couple was all smiles in their place of honor right in front of the stage.
For the occasion, Saachi unleashed her glamorous side in an off-shoulder beige sequined gown that she paired with an emerald encrusted necklace. Anirudh complemented her in a dark green bandhgala which he accessorized with a gold pocket square.
The bride’s love for keeping things simple led the decor to be a combination of ferns and white florals decking up the mandap. An almost all-white setup, the mandap and the décor, contrasted beautifully against the light blue waves behind them.
For her big day, Saachi went traditional in a bright red saree with zari work which she paired with an embellished blouse. Her hairstyle also followed the theme in an Indian bun style which was adorned with fresh jasmine flowers. Temple jewelry in antique gold adorned her neck and ears.
Held under the stars, the reception was an unconventional setup with rustic elements that were decorated with flowers and lights. The highlight was the large dining table that seated all the guests and had pastel-hued flowers in the center.
Dressed in a muted blue and silver embroidered gown, Saachi made a beautiful entrance with husband Anirudh who donned a tuxedo. Welcoming them were their well-wishers and golden sparklers that lit up the lawns.
