Saachi and Pranav, Goa

From a rousing Bollywood themed Sangeet to a quaint Parisian brunch, this couple’s wedding was full of fun and exciting themes!

An online romance that turned into a happily-ever-after, Saachi Bokadia and Pranav Sanghvi’s beautiful story got its perfect celebration in a gorgeous beach wedding. WeddingSutra Favorite – Exotic Goa Events planned their 2 day celebrations to perfection, a few glimpses of which are shared below.

How they met
Saachi & Pranav met socially roughly 5 years back & became acquaintances, but soon lost track of one another. It was after 4 years that they reconnected when Pranav reached out to Saachi on Instagram, and there was no looking back since! Unlike earlier, they had now met at a stage where their priorities, goals, likes and dislikes aligned perfectly, and they just knew that they had found their ideal partner for life!

The Proposal
Saachi says, “Our proposal was a bit different, to say the least. The lockdown prohibited Pranav from planning an elaborate proposal, but he did make it against all odds! He, along with my sister and two best friends, planned a Treasure Hunt over Zoom. At the end of each clue was a task which ensured that I would do a task in bits & pieces, without having the slightest hint of what awaited me (For example, at the end of the first clue I was told to curl my hair, the second made me pick my favourite dinner dress, and so on). The last clue led to a Zoom Meeting ID & Password, and when I logged in, I saw Pranav, formally dressed, amidst a room decorated with candles & flowers, kneeling down for me! I was blown away, and of course said yes! We celebrated with a proper dinner once the situation improved, when he finally put the ring on me!”

Wedding Planning
While the couple initially dreamed of a foreign destination beach wedding, they decided to go for a local destination in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and zeroed in on hosting it in Goa. They entrusted the team of Exotic Events Goa to bring their vision to fruition! They shared, “Our experience with Seby, Lizzie, Courtenay and their team was simply flawless. They worked tirelessly to ensure that each and every event went off well. We had some very specific demands, and they pulled all of them off, from the decor to the execution and everything else in between with the greatest ease.”

The team of Creative Lens Photography captured their moments, while a host of celebrity design labels, a makeup artist and more had the couple looking flawless for their functions.

Welcome Function
Two States was a traditional-themed welcome function, organized for guests of Saachi’s Marwari family and Pranav’s Gujarati family to mingle and get to know each other. The decor and food was a celebration and blend of both cultures, with an elaborate Indian mela-styled set up of Tarot Card readers, Balloon Shooting, amongst other activities.

Sangeet Ceremony
Razzmatazz, the Bollywood themed Sangeet and Ring Ceremony was high on glitz and glamour and was held in the stunning Ballroom. Dancing to their favourite song ‘Makhna’ from Drive, the couple arrived to the night of dance and celebration that saw solo, couple and family performances. The groom shone in a bright red kurta from Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla while the bride stood out in a dazzling lehenga from Falguni and Shane Peacock! The evening continued with an enchanting performance by singer Abuzar Akhtar, followed by DJ Rohit (Opa Fame) for the After-Party that lasted until the wee hours of the morning.

Brunch Party
Named Rue de Paris, the brunch party was an elegant soiree with French influences, complete with a spectacular installation of the Eiffel Tower! The couple looked poised in all white and the dress code was kept very Parisian. The event saw a plethora of flowers, hats, candy floss, some delicious French fare and not to mention, fun games like Jenga and Snakes & Ladders.

Wedding
The couple tied the knot in a grand royal wedding against the amber horizon of the setting sun. Light afternoon rain showers transformed the sky into the most magical backdrop for the gorgeous festivities. Trailing behind her sister who carried a placard reading “Here comes the bride”, Saachi’s entry in a decadent Manish Malhotra lehenga left everyone mesmerized, while Pranav awaited her in a custom Raghavendra Rathore achkan. The couple exchanged vows in a surreal beach ceremony.

Farewell
The couple planned to spend a few days of relaxation at The Leela, and they were bid farewell with a quaint English themed departure. A vintage car, trailed by empty cans and a ‘Just Married’ board was the perfect end to a grand, elaborate wedding.

Advice for couples
“No wedding planning is complete without its fair share of highs and lows that include arguments, happy & sad moments, elation & disappointments. As good or as bad as it might get, make sure you enjoy each & every moment of it. Most importantly, do not stress, because everything will eventually fall in place!”
