Saloni and Kunal, Jaipur

Hosted at a historic 400 year old Palace Fort, the wedding fused traditions with grandeur.

Saloni Singla and Kunal Jain tied the knot with their dream royal wedding in a heritage palace hotel in Jaipur. The magnificent festivities were envisioned and planned by the groom’s sister, and every moment of the spectacular festivities were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Shutterink.

Wedding Planning
The couple envisioned a palatial royal wedding, and roped in the groom’s sister Namita Jain of Mogra By Namita and a close friend of the groom, Ankiit Malhotra from Comme Sogno Vero, who set to work bringing their vision to life. However, when Ankiit passed away in a tragic accident before the big day, Namita and the couple rallied together to bring his ideas to fruition. The groom shares, “Our wedding was a tribute to our dear friend Ankiit, which made the celebration all the more special. Our moments were immortalized by the talented team of Shutterink, for whom any amount of praise could not sum up our gratitude. Nitin and Sandeep captured each moment and expression so beautifully, and would do absolutely anything to get the perfect shot.”

Wedding Functions

Family Dinner
A family dinner specially curated by the Mundota Fort & Palace kicked off the celebrations. Replete with elegantly crafted menus of traditional Rajasthani delicacies and formal place cards for everyone including the children, the entire family relished the sit-down dinner while live music and dance by local performers added to the magic of the evening.

Bhaat Ceremony
The next day began with an intimate Bhaat ceremony with just the couple’s close family members. The welcome lunch was decked with minimal yet vibrant yellow and fuchsia décor consisting of lively floral centerpieces, suspended tassels and more.

Engagement
Inspired by the bride’s shimmering ivory and silver lehenga, the engagement saw whimsical white décor. Cascading strings of rajnigandha criss-crossed to form a magical canopy, dotted with antique chandeliers, and a curtain through which the pretty bride came in dancing elegantly. Vases of plants and white flowers added freshness to the ambience. The groom complemented the bride’s dazzling outfit in an ivory sherwani as they exchanged rings in front of their loved ones.

Polo Breakfast
After a night of non-stop partying, everyone woke up to a sumptuous breakfast on the Polo grounds. Surrounded by minimalistic décor and grand Argentinean horses, the experience set off the day on a memorable note.

Haldi
Skipping on the traditional marigold décor, the poolside Haldi saw a bright décor of drapes, earthenware full of blooms and fresh lemons. The bride and groom were seated in large copper vessels where they were anointed with turmeric paste and showered with petals. The groom was then tossed into the pool with his friends, amidst a whole lot of fun and laughter.

Cocktail and Sangeet
In an utterly unique concept, the cocktail night was set up to depict the festivities in a hypothetical setting whereby the Mundota Royal family would invite the British Royal Family over. A decadent décor of crimson and gold adorned the evening, with a colossal stage and fireworks to mark the couple’s entry. The bride dazzled in a champagne lehenga while the groom donned a sequined royal blue sherwani, and the night was filled with spectacular performances.

Wedding and Reception
The groom arrived in a shining red vintage car flanked by his family members carrying traditional red umbrellas, even as villagers from surrounding villages witnessed it from afar and blessed the couple. His exquisitely embroidered and heavily accessorized royal sherwani perfectly complemented the bride’s unusual multi-colored lehenga, as they proceeded to tie the knot. The magical mandap with a pretty floral canopy framed beautifully against the lit backdrop of the fort beyond. The nuptials were followed by a formal dinner and saw heartfelt toasts and speeches set amidst beautiful floral arrangements and silver candelabras.
