Saloni Gandhi and Karan Thacker, Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai

When Dr Saloni Gandhi and her businessman beau Karan Thacker, decided to tie the knot, they wanted a celebration that was light and easy for their family and friends. The couple chose the Mahalaxmi Racecourse lawn in Mumbai, with the wedding festivities planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Centre Point Events.

Wedding Planning
Nikhil Murarka of Centre Point Events says, “Our main aim was to make sure that the couple and their family’s personalities were reflected in each concept. Since both families had very niche and unique tastes, we suggested the ‘Ganga Aarti’ theme for the big day which exuded tradition in a contemporary way.”
Nikhil adds, “The stunning wedding phere mandap stage was customized with the vintage bells and roots décor exuded timeless elegance, a symphony of red and gold.”

Wedding
The groom arrived in style for the wedding, in a vintage car accompanied by a lively band and dhol beats that set the tone for the celebration, with the baraatis dancing alongside. Upon reaching the venue, Karan joined the baraatis in the dance, as he waited for the bride to arrive.

The theme for the big day was “Ganga Aarti” which brought the majestic visual of Varanasi to Mumbai.
Nikhil Murarka of Centre Point Events says, “For the Varmala, a scene of seven temples were created on the steps at the venue. A team of 40 plus dancers and 12 priests were positioned across the steps for the ‘Ganga Aarti’.”

The couple exchanged garlands at the “Banaras Ghat”, even as a backdrop of SFX cold pyros, flame machine, rose petal showers and aerial fireworks enveloped them in a glow of enchantment.
