Samiksha and Utsav, Uttarakhand
The hills of Mussoorie were witness to Samiksha and Utsav's heavenly nuptials against the backdrop of blue skies.
Samiksha and Utsav’s love story had a hesitant start with both of them not sure about where the first date would lead to. But all of those doubts quickly vanished as they found true love through friendship. Take a peek at some charming moments from their wedding which were candidly captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Shutterdown.
How They Met
Samiksha shares, “Utsav and I met through a common friend who played the role of ‘Tinder’ and wouldn’t rest till we swiped right! Neither of us were keen on the meeting at first, but one thing led to another and we ended up chatting for four hours. That’s when we realized that we had something real going on between us.”
Wedding Venue
The couple had already looked at various destinations across India and Sri Lanka but were still looking for something that would work for both of them. Utsav, who had studied in Dehradun, near Mussoorie, had a soft spot for the scenic hill station. And as fate would have it, both of them were absolutely thrilled when they found their perfect venue at the JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa.
Wedding Planning
To make the wedding a grand success, the pair hired a talented team. Samiksha shares, “Manish from Catapultt Weddings made sure everything was taken care of. We’re so happy we selected Shutterdown as they managed to capture some truly magical moments. Disha, our wedding invitation designer also did a good job with our physical and e-invites.” The couple also used a wedding app called Wedsnap to share the photos and videos captured by their family which also helped the guests keep track of the bride and groom’s schedules.
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
The sangeet was a dazzling affair with Samiksha and Utsav both showing off their best moves. The decor comprised twinkling lights that made the perfect backdrop for the radiant couple. The bride looked picture-perfect in her grey embroidered lehenga accessorized with a gorgeous diamond and ruby necklace. The groom also looked handsome in a deep green embroidered bandhgala ensemble.
Haldi
Taking a break from the yellow hues, Samiksha chose a simple mint green checkered sari that she paired up with a contrasting red blouse. Utsav, however, took the traditional route and went for a soft yellow kurta. The decor reflected the fresh and breezy personalities of the duo with its pretty floral theme. A curtain of bright orange marigolds made for a scenic spot as Samiksha’s friends smeared her with turmeric paste at the event.
Wedding
Samiksha exuded old world charm in her finely embroidered lehenga with floral patterns and a red dupatta over her head. Her jewellery, however, was the showstopper with its intricate kundan work on a mint green background which gave her a truly regal look. Inspired by his bride, Utsav also chose to go the royal way with a white embroidered sherwani which he paired with a tiered ruby necklace to add a splash of color. The decor added plenty of cheer to the ceremony with its floral theme and quirky lighting. Samiksha made a stunning entry to the tunes of a ‘sringa,’ while Utsav opted for a vintage car and grooved to the beats of the dhol.

“Remember to enjoy your wedding. Don’t give in to the stress and panic. Pick your wedding planner wisely and choose someone you can completely trust. Also, hire a great photographer. All the months of planning are captured by your photographer, and years down, it’s the memories that you will reflect on. Shutterdown did a fantastic job for us.”
