A perfect mix of chic, traditional, and classic vibes, Sanaa and Parth’s wedding at Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa is straight out of a fairytale!

Sanaa and Parth’s lavish two-day nuptials created a splash at the serene, sprawling Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa with a pool party, pheras that overlooked the beach and waves of revelry. Here, bride Sanaa tells us all about their journey of love and brings us highlights from their gorgeous wedding planned by Nemish Sanghvi of WE (Weddings & Entertainment) Hospitality.

How we met
“We had a lot of friends in common and Parth had sent me a Facebook friend request when I met him simultaneously on a dating app called Hinge. On our first date he was jet lagged and seemed extremely boring. I decided not to meet him again but we stayed in touch.

One day, while we were chatting, he asked me to meet him for a little while. I was hesistant but I gave in and that was our second date. It went really well and I thought he was lovely and interesting. Slowly, it all began to come together and after a month of dating we took a trip to Goa together.”

Proposal
“On my birthday, he took me to Kashmir and popped the question on the top of a mountain. It took me by complete surprise! He was really nervous throughout the trip as it had all been planned by him. But hands down, it was definitely an unforgettable moment for us.”

Wedding Venue
“I’d often travelled to Goa and always wanted to get married there but I never really discussed this with Parth. Once we started planning the wedding and looking for destinations, we finalized on Goa since it was convenient for our guests to fly down. Parth is very particular about planning. He wanted a resort close to the airport and keeping all factors in mind, we finalized the Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa.”

Wedding Functions

Mehndi
“On the first day, the sundowner with the beach as backdrop was beautiful. The color scheme was white and there was a bar and a cabana. The vibe was super chilled as we wanted our guests to just relax and have fun. The best thing about this evening was that my brother-in-law hired a saxophonist and the DJ kept everyone dancing! I wore a gorgeous Sabyasachi lehenga for this function.”

Sangeet
“A band called Faridkot played at our function and made the sangeet truly memorable. Everyone, young and old couldn’t help but groove to the music. Our bartender was another highlight of the evening. He made sure everyone got a taste of the variety of drinks he had to offer – from a Nutella shot to bubble gum flavors. He also kept everyone entertained with his bartending acrobatics. We also had DJ Amann Nagpal who did a fabulous job of keeping the party going well into the wee hours of the morning. I wanted to feel comfortable in my outfit on this evening so I chose a unique Patiala creation by Sabyasachi.”

Wedding
“Our entry was a high point. We arrived with much fanfare and then settled down to a beautiful Jain ceremony by the beach. The wedding just had a beautiful vibe to it and at one point our loved ones were moved to tears watching us wed in the serene surroundings. We felt that union happening and it was a day we will cherish forever. While I wore a Raw Mango creation for the ceremony, Parth looked every bit the suave Maharaja in his outfit.”

After-Party
“Soon after the ceremony, it was time for the after-party; glamor and glitz with all things shiny was in order for the evening. The party was ethereal and extremely chic. My outfit was a creation by Gaurav Gupta. For the evening, the band called ‘ONEmpire’ performed and then we had DJ Sandy playing all night. The highlight of the evening and other pre-wedding functions was this guy we hired from Surat who is famous for knowing how to whip 300 different types of egg dishes. Although we arranged for only 4 or 5 varieties for the night, his dishes were a hit for the guests who just needed a quick bite after a night of drinking.”

Reception
The couple decided to have a reception at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai as well. Hanging chandeliers and florals adorned the big ballroom where the reception was held. For the evening, Sanaa wore a gorgeous Sabyasachi creation in terra beige and brown with beautiful embroidery all over it while Parth wore a classic black bandhgala. Keeping with the vibe of good sounds this wedding enjoyed, the evening was filled with lots of fun music and dancing.

Advice for Couples
“While planning the wedding, think about where you are spending money and make sure you get what you paid for. There is always a chance you can end up feeling like you got looted. Do some thorough research and plan ahead meticulously and keep tabs on everything as it happens.”
