Doctors by profession, Sanskriti Babhulkar and Rohit Kate’s elegant city wedding was planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Janvi Dave Weddings & Events to be a memorable amalgamation of their Maharashtrian culture and contemporary aesthetics. Wedding Planning
With a crystal-clear vision for every function of her wedding at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, Sanskriti brought on board the team of Janvi Dave Weddings & Events to plan and design her wedding. Talking about the experience she elaborates, “Right from the first meeting where I shared my ideas and mood boards over a zoom call, Janvi completely absorbed my vision and crafted a spectacular celebration. I was very particular about everything from the decor to the smallest of details, and she meticulously planned all starting from the hampers to collaterals, activities and entertainment whilst adding a personal touch to the whole experience as she went along. Despite being hosted in the same hotel itself, every function had a distinct and unique vibe that transported guests to a whole new world. Needless to say, we were thrilled with the entire experience”.
Every second of the stunning celebrations was captured in all its glory by the renowned team of Israni Photography. The decor was executed by National Decorators. The bride and groom sported a rich designer wedding wardrobe for their functions, while a talented team of hair and makeup artists, that included the renowned Mumbai-based makeup artist Kajol R Paswwan, gave her stunning looks.
Wedding Functions
Haldi
The festivities kicked off on a high with a lively Haldi function full of colour and joy. Quirky props including palms, dream catchers and wicker craft as well as pops of bright blooms put a fun spin on traditional marigolds. Activities such as a Maharashtrian Nath corner, tarot card reader, Kolhapuri chappal stall, mehndi application came together with music and merriment for a memorable experience, while everyone rejoiced even as the couple were doused in turmeric by their loved ones.
Sangeet
Sanskriti’s dream of an enchanted forest-themed function came true with the Sangeet night that was elegantly designed with crystals, chandeliers, warm candlelight, neon signs, gilded props and tons of lush foliage! A long tunnel with a canopy of suspended vines dotted with chandeliers and flanked on both sides by crystal stands led to the glamorous night of music and entertainment. The show-stopping stage continued the forest theme featuring a quirky neon sign that said, ‘Most Alive when in love’, while modern black and white striped elements such as the dance floor, a bar and an illusion photo corner added an edgy twist to the atmosphere.
Wedding
Hosted with a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony, the Wedding was an elegant affair with soft floral decor in a romantic pink palette. A stunning ombre wall of pink flowers, baskets of colored blooms and flowing drapes set a serene tone for the occasion. From the welcome hampers filled with local delicacies to juices and shakes from the iconic Haji Ali Juice Centre, many unique elements were added for a personal touch. The team of Janvi Dave Weddings & Events ensured top-notch experiences for the couple’s high profile guestlist that included many VVIPs and politicians such as Shri Sharad Pawar and Ms Supriya Sule.
Reception
The celebrations wound down with the final Reception and an elegant cocktail party. Classic decor of white flowers and drapes were elevated with pops of green, warm candlelight and crystal chandeliers. Dressed in a crimson gown and tuxedo respectively, the bride and groom cut a stunning 3-layer cake and shared their first dance to great cheer which was followed by heady toasts and a sumptuous sit-down dinner.
