Vibrant decor with fresh flowers and foliage were a hit at this intimate wedding.
Common friends can sometimes play such a pivotal role in bringing a couple together. One is considered blessed if you have buddies like these who can fan the flames of a budding friendship leading it right into the path of a romantic relationship. Sanya and Neelaksh, who met through a mutual friend sealed their beautiful relationship by tying the knot at their beautiful wedding held in Gurgaon. WeddingSutra Favourite – Plush Weddings created magic at their nuptials with their impeccable design and execution at all the functions.
How They Met
Best friends turned lovers, Sanya and Neelaksh, were first introduced through a mutual friend. They jumped from a platonic relationship to a romantic one over endless phone texts and coffee dates. Before they knew it, they were already engaged to each other. Soon after they made it official, they faced a minor hurdle in their relationship when Sanya moved to a different city to pursue her MBA. Finally, after the completion of her course, they got married.
Neelaksh planned a romantic proposal for his lady love in the presence of their close friends in a room decorated with candles and rose petals, where he went down on one knee and professed his love with a song composed by him.
The couple, along with their parents zeroed in on Crowne Plaza Hotel, Gurgaon, that offered a mix of indoor and outdoor settings to host their wedding functions.
The bridal mehndi hosted at her place was beautifully decorated with bright pink and yellow flowing drapes. Marigolds, white blooms and a lot of fresh leaves added a colorful mix to the day function. Soon after everyone had their hands painted with henna, they danced to their heart’s content to peppy dhol beats. Sanya looked like a floral princess wearing a pink and green lehenga with intricate mirror work by Amrita Thakur which she beautifully accessorized with floral jewelry.
It was an eventful night of drinking and merrymaking at the cocktail party, which was decorated with glittering golden details. An intimate haldi and choora ceremony was held at the bride’s home early in the morning that took an emotional turn. Pictures of the bride shedding a tear and clinging to her kaleerein with joy encapsulated her real emotions.
Inspired by the Mughal paintings and traditional outfits, their wedding venue was painted in gold and maroon elements. Going in sync with the decor, Sanya donned a beautiful red lehenga by Asiana Couture. Neelaksh complemented her in a white sherwani which he paired with a red stole and golden headgear. The bride shares an interesting anecdote from her wedding, “We requested the panditji to fast forward the pheras because Neelaksh and I wanted to finish the wedding rituals quickly and spend the rest of the evening with our close ones.” Soon after their pheras, the newlyweds hit the dance floor along with their guests. The night took an emotional turn when Sanya bid goodbye to her family during her Vidaai.
Advice For Couples
Sanya shares, “There will be a lot of stress and things going haywire at the last minute. Make sure you delegate tasks. I was lucky not to have anything to do, because my parents and my brother took complete charge of things and made it so special for me!”
