Sanya and Vishesh, Taj Lands End, Mumbai
This couple’s wedding celebrations at a magnificent sea-facing venue in Mumbai saw colorful hues and vintage decor come together for an everlasting experience.
From first meeting on a school trip to now packing for their honeymoon trip, Sanya and Vishesh have come a long way. The lovebirds who recently got married at Mumbai’s most sought after property, Taj Lands End, took help from WeddingSutra Favourites to create magic at their wedding. While Krayonz Entertainment curated and executed all their wedding functions, Vivaah Wedding worked their magic with the decor. WeddingSutra Favourite – Isrrani Photography froze all the memories of their big day with their impeccable photography skills.
How They Met
Life’s plan of making Sanya and Vishesh meet first on a school trip to Shimla and then in Malaysia was a sign that the two were meant to be. On an impulse, he asked her out on a date on their flight back to Mumbai only to hear her say ‘No’. Finding different ways to woo her worked in his favor, and they finally started dating only to part ways after three long years. Vishesh shifted to London to pursue his bachelor’s degree, and they spoke to each other once in a blue moon. The two picked up again as friends and soon realized they couldn’t stay away from each other. Now here they are, happily married.
The couple had always envisioned getting married at the opulent property of Taj Lands End, Mumbai for its location, hospitality and eclectic views. Since their wedding dates were clashing with other weddings at the property, the couple shifted their dates thrice to ensure their functions were celebrated at this stunning hotel.
Sanya shares, “The entire dedicated team of Krayonz entertainment passionately worked around the clock to execute the wedding of our dreams. They perfectly understood our vision, were prompt in working on our ideas and kept us involved in the process. We picked Isrrani Photography after seeing their outstanding work. Their team was prompt in capturing all our beautiful moments. The team at Vivaah Wedding executed a decor selection that resonated perfectly with our taste.”
The celebrations started with a traditional welcoming of the guests with an Aarti and Tikka followed by a Bhajan Sandhya at the poolside lawns. Siddharth Mohan and his troupe played divine tunes that captivated everyone present at the auspicious ceremony.
Post the dinner, all the baraatis geared up for an after-party full of dance, music and copious amounts of alcohol. DJ Taher and Saurabh with his team, had the party going strong with their upbeat music. The bride and the groom were welcomed by pyro shots as they made their entry wearing a purple and gold banarasi lehenga by Jayanti Reddy and a white kurta with a yellow bandhgala by Deepak Parwani respectively.
The team at Krayonz entertainment shared, “The seating arrangement comprised of pastel upholstery and was rather comfortable and refreshing. True to its theme, the entrance to the Bhajan Sandhya comprised of brass elements, cascading lamps, candles and gorgeous floral arrangements.”
The afternoon saw the mehndi ceremony at the Garden view venue that featured mesmerising decor. DJ Taher had everybody grooving to his beats for this function. An illusionist, a Tanoura dancer and Belly dancers kept the guests entertained and perfectly tuned to the Arabic theme. The bride wearing a vibrant blue outfit by Asiana Couture and the groom in an asymmetrical blush pink indo-western sherwani were escorted by International dancers while Singer Aishwarya Bhandari gave a live performance.
After exchanging rings, the night unfolded with the couple making a grand entry which was meticulously planned and executed by team Krayonz entertainment. With India’s most famous sand artist Rahul Arya performing live and depicting the story of the couple on screen, the to-be-weds were welcomed on stage with dry ice and blue lights creating a romantic atmosphere. The night unfolded with stunning dance performances by the families and ended with Rahul Vaidya singing peppy numbers. Sanya looked like a million bucks in an olive green cocktail lehenga by Manish Malhotra, while Vishesh looked dapper in a wine-colored tuxedo.
The bride and groom had separate haldi ceremonies where both of them were seen donning understated pastel yellow outfits. Post the function the groom’s squad sat down for a pooja and safa bandhai ceremony.
The groom arrived in a vintage Rolls Royce decorated with flowers which was followed by the milni ceremony where the bride’s side of the family greeted the baraatis with pearl garlands. As soon as the bride walked down the aisle with live chanting echoing in the background, the couple exchanged the garlands. Their mandap, decorated with vintage crystal chandeliers and ornate pillars bedecked with roses, was set on the lush lawns of the property overlooking the Arabian Sea, where they exchanged their wedding vows. A satiating dinner was served to the guests post the pheras. Sanya kept her look classic by wearing a heavily embellished red Sabyasachi lehenga. Vishesh, on the other hand, wore a traditional white embroidered sherwani which he paired with a multi-colored safa and stole.
The newlyweds quickly changed into their party outfits where the stunning bride picked a gorgeous electric blue number by Amit Aggarwal and the groom kept it classy with a grey checkered suit. The grand celebrations ended on a high note with all the guests dancing all night long.
