Shaina Pratap and Rohan Ajmera’s wedding in Mumbai, the ‘City of Dreams’ reflected the duo’s love for soft glam. Simplicity, elegance and traditions were at the heart of this wedding planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Bon Evento.
Wedding Planning
Planned by Bon Evento, the wedding celebrations stayed true to the couple’s vision. Keenly aware of the couple’s personal style and preferences, each event was carefully curated to reflect their unique perspectives. Be it the soft glam sangeet, the quirky haldi or the luxurious wedding – the planning team was extremely proactive to ensure everything was in tandem with the theme of each event.

Sangeet
Aditya Bajaj from Bon Evento shares, “Shaina had a strong preference for simplicity with elegance, and her heart resonated with the enchanting winter wonderland theme. The couple made a lively entrance, guided by their friends, who danced with glow sticks in hand. Shaina’s sangeet was a personalized affair hosted by her brothers and with her friends orchestrating the choreography. The festivities reached a crescendo with a dynamic performance by Bollywood singer Shalmali Kholgade.”
Haldi Ceremony
Shaina with her playful spirit, embraced a quirky approach to fun during her Haldi ceremony. Accompanied by family and friends, she made a vibrant entrance with color bombs in hand. Aditya gives us an overview of the design, “Diverging from the typical Haldi setup, the venue featured unique elements such as baskets, tea kettles, cutting chai glasses, dream catchers, pinwheels, boxes, trunks, vases, and more.”
Wedding Bliss
Under the radiant daylight against the iconic backdrop of the Gateway of India, the vibrant red hue painted the atmosphere. Aditya adds, “Instead of the groom having a baraat, the bride arrived in style with her baraatis in tow. Shaina made a dashing entry seated in a vintage car with a floral parasol shielding her from the sun. Special effects and dhol players added a generous dash of energy as the bride’s loved ones danced away.”
The varmala ceremony was punctuated by playful glances and a cascade of flowers to mark the beginning of a new chapter in the couple’s lives. The wedding mandap was a vast one with latticework pillars and orbs of light surrounded by roses.
Reception
Ivory, green and gold were merged elegantly to create an enchanting reception celebration under the stars. A live band played retro instrumental tunes and the seaside breeze had the guests swaying to the serene tunes. Skilled mixologists rustled up lip-smacking drinks while fairylights, a monochrome dancefloor and white blooms set the mood for a party that went well into the night.
