How we met
Sachin and I met on an online portal and struck a chord instantly. I was based in Dubai then and he was living in Singapore. After just a few weeks of chatting with him he flew down to Dubai to see me. I thought that was the sweetest thing. He’d also talked about the likelihood of us ending up together quite early in our conversations and I followed his lead. The rest is a happily ever after…

Wedding Functions
We chose the beautiful Taj Santacruz for our entire wedding. Not only was the hotel’s location near the airport very convenient for guests arriving from overseas, they were delighted to be accommodated there as well.

Mehndi
I wanted a fun, vibrant mehndi and with the help of our brilliant wedding planners, Pooja and Namrata, we executed a brilliant floral-themed venue. Every nook and corner of the lawns were festooned with bright marigolds which complemented my own floral jewellery beautifully. I wore a stunning Akanksha Gajaria lehenga in mango with a gorgeous butterfly net dupatta.

Sangeet
Our sangeet was straight out of a fairytale! The décor for the evening was white florals illuminated with blue and purple iridescent lights. We had special performances by friends and family and there was just a joyful, loved-up vibe in the air. I wore a beautiful blue Anita Dongre masterpiece with a sleeveless blouse and an embellished dupatta.

Wedding
We’d imagined a traditional set up for our wedding rituals. It was going to be an intimate ceremony and we kept the décor simple and elegant with a lovely floral backdrop to the beautiful mandap. Our baraat ceremony was just crazy. My family surprised me with their amazing dance moves. Since it was my special day, I relied on Sabyasachi Mukherjee – a red lehenga with gold embellishments, statement Kundan jewellery and traditional choodas. I wore my hair in an up-do and my makeup was subtle and glamorous. Makeup artist Jaywant Thakre gave me a dewy bronzed look which was very elegant. Advice for couples getting married Planning a wedding can be challenging especially when the venue is in a different country. The most important thing is to remember to really have fun during your wedding. It seems like a cliché but it’s true! Always smile because you are moving into a different chapter in your life. Lastly, express your gratitude to all your loved ones, who stuck by you, to make your wedding dream a reality.

A special mention for our amazing wedding photographer Payal Kumar- Payal was really helpful throughout the wedding functions in focusing on our most important moments and every time we see the pictures, we are happy to see our love story come into light.
