Decorated with fairy lights and suspended white and red blooms, this couple’s minimalistic open-air wedding mandap took our breath away!
Beating the odds and tackling every obstacle that life tossed their way, Shreeda and Viral’s love found its happy ending in a stunning and intimate home-based wedding. Nestled amidst greenery and basking in the love of their family, the couple looked radiant as they tied the knot. How They Met
Shreeda shares, “We first connected through an arranged marriage setup where both our profiles were shared with each other. The city had just come out of a lockdown and eager to meet, we arranged a meeting near a popular pizza joint where we got takeaway pizza to chat over. The first meeting itself spanned two hours and within those hours, we both instinctively knew that this was it! However, we didn’t profess it that day! Right after that, we met for three consecutive days and serendipitously, said ‘yes’ to each other.”
The Proposal
Recollecting Viral’s surprise proposal, Shreeda shares, “Viral had just finished his quarantine and it was my birthday week. Keeping me in the dark, he’d arranged to pop the question at his farmhouse where he’d made all the arrangements in advance. On my birthday, he was being incredibly annoying in order to hide the big surprise. But when he took me to the farmhouse, I was dumbstruck! He’d arranged a beautiful fairytale-like setup and I couldn’t believe my eyes! That was the moment when he went down on one knee and proposed to me. I remember the cameras clicking as I looked at him and I was overwhelmed with love. How could I not say ‘yes’?”
Wedding Planning
“Since our wedding took place during the second phase of the pandemic, safety was of utmost priority for us. After much brainstorming, we decided to host our nuptials at our respective farmhouses. Each venue was beautiful in its own way and we were determined to plan the wedding on our own! Our friends and family, of course, helped us out at every step of the way!”
Acknowledging the importance of having a skilled wedding photographer on board, the couple roped in The Return Ticket Studios who used their expertise to capture each emotional moment flawlessly. The happy bride gushes, “The Return Ticket Studios team was incredibly easy to work with! In fact, they were more like friends to us rather than professionals. We enjoyed our pre-wedding shoot the most and they also guided us when it came to the poses which weren’t the usual clichéd ones at all! In a nutshell, the photography team gave us the most important memories of our big day. They ensured that nothing was missed out and every emotion was captured.”

Engagement
Adorned with elegant rustic decor, the couple’s engagement was a visual treat. Hosted under the star-studded sky and lit up by bright lights that cast their golden glow on them, the couple exchanged rings in front of their family and friends. After the ring ceremony, a playful cake-cutting moment took place where the little ones clamored for their slice!
Wedding
Surrounded by lush greenery, the big day was an intimate yet extremely romantic affair steeped in simplicity. Commencing with a boisterous baraat where the groom shook a leg with his pals, the wedding was off to a playful start. Bedecked in white and red flowers that were artfully peppered across the venue, the mandap stole the show with its floral pillars and ceiling. Looking radiant in a traditional red lehenga, Shreeda was all smiles as she walked down the aisle while her bridal squad held up placards inscribed with vows that the couple would make to each other.
Advice for Couples
“Planning a wedding is extremely exciting but at the same time, it can also be exhausting! Be clear about your choices, vision and then work towards it meticulously. For us, the shopping bit was rather tiring as both of us aren’t avid fans of trying on clothes. In these cases, we found it’s best to make a decision as soon as possible.
Most importantly, enjoy the wedding planning phase to the fullest! Don’t stress over the small things as everything will eventually unfold the way it’s supposed to, organically.” advises Shreeda.
