A blend of traditions and glamor with a dash of that oomph factor, Mumbai-based celebrity stylist Shreya Gupta’s wedding to Shubham Kedia, who works in transportation and logistics, was a dazzling affair planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Shreem Events. Hosted across elite hotels in South Mumbai, the city wedding saw striking decor concepts with personal touches, exquisitely crafted by WeddingSutra Favorite – House of Vivaah. Wedding Venue
Hailing from the city of Mumbai, the couple chose to wed with chic city festivities that were hosted across 2 prominent hotels in Worli. The grand Sangeet was hosted at the Gallery Banquet of the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, while the wedding functions were held in various ballrooms of The St. Regis Mumbai.
Wedding Planning
The couple envisioned a celebration that was traditional but unique with the perfect line-up with out-of-the-box concepts for an element of awe. They entrusted the team of Shreem Events to plan all their functions in vivid detail. The exquisite decor concepts of their wedding were executed by the House of Vivaah.
Looking back upon the experience, Founder Devanshi Patel of Shreem Events shares, “It was a great opportunity for us to allow our creativity to run free and see some unique concepts come to life. While it was a wedding of notable scale with several elements, we didn’t come across any challenges as such, except for the indoor baraat in The St. Regis Mumbai. The luxury car had to be brought up to the 9th floor, and even though it was a tad difficult, the hotel staff was very cordial and helped us every step of the way to ensure the baraat was up to the mark and done exactly the way the groom always wanted. Even the entries went perfectly as per plan and the overall wedding was a hit. Considering everything was planned with a very tight schedule, with just about just a week and a half for finalizing all vendors, ideas, and details, we felt an amazing sense of accomplishment knowing without a doubt that Shreem Events can make any wedding vision come true!”
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
Hosted at the grand Gallery Banquet of the iconic Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai, the Sangeet soiree was an evening of scintillating decor, fun-filled celebrations, and unforgettable moments. An entrance of glistening crystal birds, foliage, and flowers set a magical tone for the evening, the essence of which was carried on to the ballroom. Set with lush foliage, flowers, and a massive crystal structure with the stunning couple monogram of ‘SS’, the stage offered a dazzling backdrop to the evening’s performances. Amidst great cheers, the couple made an entry inspired by the groom’s love for the hit show “The Office, making their way onto the stage through a balloon aisle for their ring exchange and Sagan ceremony, followed by performances by friends and family. It was a thrilling night.
Telbaan
The groom’s traditional tel baan was an intimate indoor ceremony. The cozy setup was designed with a sunny backdrop of flowers and foliage while the groom sat in an ornate urli.
Wedding
Hosted at the magnificent Astor Ballroom of The St. Regis Mumbai, the wedding ceremony saw enchanting decor by the House of Vivaah, centered around the dreamy, forest-themed stage filled with delicate white flowers. A luxury car was brought to the hotel’s open-air space on the 9th for the baraat, where the groom’s friends and family gathered around him and danced to the beats of dhol music and rousing mixes by the DJ. The groom carried a beautiful silver umbrella embroidered in zardozi work, an heirloom piece that has been used in every wedding in his family.
The bride’s entry was no less special, as an entourage of adorable kids from her family led the way with flower baskets, scattering petals on the aisle, followed by the bride’s mother and sister who walked to the melody of a song that lies close to the bride’s heart. Shreem Events even incorporated elements to honor the memory of the bride’s late father, making the occasion all the more emotional. To further make the moment truly mesmerizing, all the lights in the ballroom were dimmed save for the lamps carried by the guests closest to the aisle, lighting up the aisle with a gentle glow as the bride walked in. The couple’s union was marked with an explosion of joy and energy as they exchanged varmalas and tied the knot. As she got closer to the groom the entire energy of the place transformed. It was suddenly filled with joy, excitement, and dance as this portrayed the real essence of the couple.
The magic of the occasion flowed into the reception that followed as the newlyweds walked in amidst their friends who held up fluttering ribbons. It was an evening of celebrations. The guests felt personalized hampers, thank-you gifts, and a trove of special memories they would cherish for a lifetime.
