Shristie and Cyril, Kolkata
Vintage and romantic, this couple’s engagement ceremony was charmingly decorated with handmade khadi fabric and delicate blooms.
Shristie and Cyril first crossed paths in Amsterdam and soon enough, they knew that there was something special brewing between them. After being business partners for a long time, the duo decided to become life partners surrounded by their loved ones in a wedding that encapsulated their unique personalities. Orchestrated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Dream Katchers who gave life to the duo’s vision with their meticulous designing skills, this wedding was a dreamy affair that exuded contemporary and vintage vibes.
How They Met
Shristie shares, “Cyril and I first met in Amsterdam, and soon we decided to collaborate and open a small art gallery space to give budding artists a chance to display their work. But distance intervened and Cyril had to go away for an art residency that would last three months. And, I guess, distance does make the heart grow fonder, as by the time he came back, we were head over heels in love with each other.
And when it came to the proposal, I was adamant that Cyril not do it in a cheesy way. Instead, I asked him to ask me to marry him once every day. And he did, till the day we got married!”
Wedding Planning
Acknowledging the importance of having an expert planner and decorator on board who would understand their vision accurately, the duo decided to rope in Dream Katchers who with their superior skills ensured that not a detail was amiss. Expressing their pleasure about the team, the couple happily shares, “Working with Nancy Dokania and her team at Dream Katchers was such a rewarding experience! They helped us out at every step of the way and understood our vision from day one. Their tiniest attention to detail, work ethic, and creativity were remarkable even when the stress levels were high. We would happily collaborate with them again.”
Adding to the team were makeup artist Reshma S Daing and photographer Malvika Periwal Photography who made sure the duo looked gorgeous from every angle.
Weddings Functions
Engagement and Luncheon
Shristie shares, “For the afternoon we wanted a pastel, summery decor that allowed everyone to feel relaxed and welcome. And to make this happen, a charming sepia aura was given to the venue with tea-dyed flowers along with handmade jute and khadi fabrics. Furthermore, a European touch was also given to the event with an experimental tasting menu designed especially for the occasion.”
Wedding
Although for the wedding, the couple decided to keep things a tad bit simpler and stayed true to tradition. The happy bride shares, “For the wedding, we decided to keep it a small and sweet affair with all our close friends and family around us. The phere took place at a beautiful spot near the pool with palm trees swaying in the breeze just after the sunset.
After Party
Following a glamorous and mysterious Moroccan theme, the after-party was a dazzling evening in which the newlyweds enjoyed themselves thoroughly with their loved ones. Surrounded by softly lit lanterns, plush carpets, and comfy seats, this event brought their nuptials to an end on a high note.
