Shubashree Balajapalli, a guitarist and the granddaughter of legendary playback singer Padma Bhushan awardee P. Susheela’s wedding with Vinay Sriniketh Pedapati, a Dubai-based industrialist was a splendid celebration. The bride shares, “We wanted to tie the knot as soon as possible and to be in sync with our culture while keeping the style quotient high. Weddings Functions
Lagna Patrika
An event that is considered the formal announcement of the wedding, the Lagna Patrika consists of the to-be-weds making written vows to each other to get married at a later date. Shubhashree and Vinay’s Lagna Patrika was a simple affair decorated with minimalistic white and yellow marigold garlands.

Engagement
For the Engagement, the couple chose to go glam with sleek, modernistic décor elements that contrasted beautifully with the sunset sky. Adorned with white hues and pastel blooms that were softly lit up by gold ambient lights, the Engagement exuded a dash of whimsy along with glitz.

Pellikuthuru
An extremely important event in Telugu weddings, the Pellikuthuru is an auspicious occasion where family and friends apply turmeric paste on the bride and groom. For this function, the couple and their families chose a simple decor theme with bright yellow marigolds. Additionally, a gilded sofa backed by cut-out illustrations of Pichwai cows made for a stunning seating area for the bride.

Mehndi
For the Mehndi, revelry took centerstage with loved ones dancing to music in surrounding vibrant blooms. Adding to the enchantment was the bride’s grandmother, the legendary P. Susheela who entranced the onlookers with her voice. Shubhashree also showed off her musical prowess as she expertly played the guitar and serenaded Vinay onstage.

Sangeet
After the traditional events, the couple decided to add a dash of indo-western freshness to the festivities with a stylish sangeet. Hosted on the lush lawns, the Sangeet was tastefully decorated with LED candles, white blooms and foliage where the couple danced to their heart’s content with all their loved ones in tow.

Wedding
Grand, traditional and flaunting a beautiful mix of white, gold and red hues the Wedding looked straight out of a storybook. Additionally, the mandap was blessed with the picture of Shreenathji and decorated with suspended flora that further heightened the opulence of the evening.
