This couple’s elegant all-white wedding paid homage to their traditions while expressing their love for contemporary designs.
Shweta Shriyan and Darshit Jain, the owners of Venecci – an apparel company, tied the knot with a set of close-knit and elegant celebrations in Mumbai. Hosted at the plush Hilton Mumbai International Airport, the couple had a gala time as revelled with their loved ones and indulged in the hotel’s renowned hospitality.
How They Met
Darshit shares, “We first crossed paths via a mutual friend 9 years ago. However, I’d always been an admirer of Shweta since I’d seen her pictures online. Initially, there were a few hiccups as we hail from different cultures but in the end, our love prevailed.”
The Proposal
Darshit popped the question with a surprise proposal in the Maldives. He shares, “I told her to go to the rooftop while I was preparing her outfit. She was then accompanied by the resort staff to the venue where I was waiting with my friends and family over a Zoom call. She was blindfolded and as she entered, our love song began and it was all a dreamy moment post that.”
Wedding Venue
When it came to selecting the wedding venue, the couple was keen on a hotel that would match their vision. The couple shares, “Hilton Mumbai International Airport impressed us from the get-go. We were keen on a white theme and the hotel’s setup was perfect for it. The elegance and charm of its interior was something that blew our minds.”

As entrepreneurs who are always on the move, planning a wedding is not an easy feat. Thankfully the couple has a reliable set of vendors to fall back on who ensured their dreams came true. Wedding Functions
Haldi
The couple kicked off the celebrations with an indoor haldi ceremony. The South Indian design theme of the event included a banana leaves backdrop, and marigold and jasmine garlands. The event was punctuated by many interactive games and the couple were later slathered with haldi while being seated in brass urlis.
Wedding
For the Marwadi wedding in January, white was the dominant hue in the colour palette with the couple donning the same color outfits. After an energetic baraat, the couple exchanged varmalas against the backdrop of an elegant floral arch. White blooms with pops of pink struck a stunning contrast against Mumbai’s night sky.
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Just go with the flow and take it one day at a time. Never panic as what has to happen will happen. Keep your faith strong and enjoy each moment to the fullest.”
