Sibi and Vishnu, Trivandrum

Sibi was inspired by jewelry ideas she saw on WeddingSutra and had her pieces crafted to perfection. Check out that and other highlights of her wedding to Vishnu in Kerala.

Sibi had Vishnu’s heart a year before she said agreed to marry him, and when she did, the celebration had to be a grand one. The bride tells us about their splendid wedding ceremony in Trivandrum and gives us a peek into her big day through stunning wedding photographs.

How We Met
“When my parents and I began looking for a partner for me, Vishnu’s was the first proposal that we received. However, at that point, I wasn’t sure if saying a ‘Yes’ was the right thing. A year later, he reached out to me once again on a matrimonial website. This time, I decided to give us a shot. A month after keeping in touch we met in Dubai, and that’s when the deal was sealed. We knew we were the right ones for each other and soon the date for our wedding was fixed!”

Wedding Venues
“Our functions were held at different venues in Trivandrum. Our sangeet took place at Vivanta By Taj – Trivandrum, Kerala, and our wedding at the Al-Saj International Convention Center.”

Wedding Planning
“Our nuptials were orchestrated by Rainmaker Event Planners which is a wedding planning company based out of Kochi, Kerala. The team at Wedding Cinemas were the ones who took care of the photography, and our wedding invitations were designed by a company in Bangalore.” “My makeup artist for the sangeet was Jaanmoni Das who is very popular for her work even amongst actresses in the film industry. Renju Renjimar was my makeup artist for my wedding. She too is a known name in the cinema circles.”

“Rajasthan Jewellers in Trivandrum were the ones who crafted my wedding jewellery. When I was organizing my trousseau, I found that I loved several pieces that I stumbled upon on Pinterest as well as on WeddingSutra. They were able to create for me designs that were inspired by the pictures that I showed them, and I was rather impressed by their attention to detail. They’re someone who I would recommend to any who is looking to purchase gold jewellery.”

Wedding Functions

Sangeet
“For our sangeet, we wanted to create a rich atmosphere and developed a theme around one of the most regal fabrics – velveteen. We stuck to a red and golden color palette to enhance the charm of the concept. Our red stage backdrop bore golden motifs was adorned with ornate frames. A swing had been set up that was draped in the same color. Staying true to the theme, I opted for a red lehenga by Sabyasachi and even my friends and family followed the color code. Vishnu wore a black and red outfit from Manyavar which was paired with a beautifully draped stole.”

Wedding
“Golden was the color that dominated our wedding setup and could be seen in all decor elements be it the small lotus sculptures that dotted the venue or the more prominent structures such as the mandap, or even the palanquin that I entered in. I opted for a green and golden Benarasi saree by Sabyasachi. All my jewellery except for my nose ring for this event was bought from Rajasthan Jewellers and Bhima Boutique, both in Trivandrum. My nose ring was an Anita Dongre creation. Vishnu wore a kurta from Manyavar.”

For the post-wedding function in the evening, I wore a blue and white lehenga from Pranaah by Kerala-based actress Poornima Indrajith.

Reception
“After two beautiful events, we had to have a grand reception and so we did. For this function, I opted for a gown by Tarun Tahiliani that had an Indian vibe to it. Vishnu on the other steered away from an Indian look and opted for a suit.”

Advice For Couples
“Make sure you hire a good wedding planner. Once you have done that, it is half the battle won. If you have a team that understands and respects your requirements and is passionate about fulfilling your needs, it will make everything so much easier for you. Also, make sure to use platforms such as Pinterest and WeddingSutra to draw inspiration while envisioning your wedding details.”
