From friends to family, this special wedding celebrated a beautiful bond with unmatched grandeur.
Hailing from prominent business families in Hyderabad, Sneha, and Jay Patel transformed their lifelong friendship into love and began their new journey with a beguiling destination wedding in the city of lakes. Watch their story unfold in their vibrant celebrations, planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Janvi Dave Weddings & Events.
Wedding Planning
The couple wanted their wedding to be an extravagant affair full of intriguing themes and ideas and entrusted the team of Janvi Dave Weddings & Events to orchestrate it. Giving us insight into the process, they share, “We coordinated with the bride’s brother and the groom’s father throughout the planning period, as it was their wish to keep the actual arrangements a surprise for the couple. The wedding was happening in Udaipur, so grandiosity and royal flavors were just what the occasion demanded.
A total of 9 events were spread across 4 days, and we had to level up with every event. We loved conceptualizing new themes and designing them as per the mood of the function. We wanted to make each one special as a whole experience, from the décor to different engaging activities and more. We enjoyed watching our ideas come to life. The freedom of creativity that they gave us, along with the faith they had in us, allowed us to do some of our best work”.
They add, “Their Save-the-date cards were also made from scratch by our in-house digital design team, and featured designs of marble engraving of The City Palace, Udaipur. Their video E-invite was designed as per the themes planned for different events, and showcased elements of décor of each to create curiosity about what the actual events were going to be like. We made sure every event was different from the other, in terms of themes as well as experiences. Their hashtag #FRIENDSTOFAMILY, couple names, and initial letters were also uniquely incorporated in every event.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Boho with a touch of magic, the charming outdoor ceremony of Mehndi was full of love and laughter. Quirky and rustic decor elements came together with sparkling fairy lights and balloons to create a lively atmosphere. The couple arrived with an entourage of women dressed in light-up dresses and holding balloons, after which the evening continued with performances by local artists, music, dance, and a lot more.
Engagement
The engagement ceremony saw the creation of a floral paradise full of dreamy blooms, candles, and more. Sitting astride a mobile carriage-like setup of intricate metalwork, flowers, and long candles, the couple made a fairytale entry as they were wheeled in, before exchanging rings and cutting an elaborately decorated cake.
Haldi
Inspired by the local crafts and Palaces of Rajasthan, the Haldi soiree was imagined in a palette of white and blue, with billowing drapes, vases, flowers, and more. The couple arrived with zest, dancing, and singing as performers followed them with large sparkling heart cutouts. Moments of music and dance led to the Haldi ceremony where even more fun and frolicking continued, as their loved ones showered them with turmeric paste and flower petals.
Sangeet
The evening revved up and Disco fever took over the crowds. The sparkling decor of disco balls, tinsel canopies, LED lights, and more set the mood for the evening, while the guests took to the dance floor dressed in full glam. The couple and their loved ones set the stage on fire with their powerful dance performances, while celebrity artist Rodney also added his artistry to the mix.
Mandap Muhurat
The next morning began with the vibrance of a Rajasthani Mela as a plethora of colors took over the ceremony of Mandap Muhurat. The decor saw brightly-hued drapes, dream catchers, kites, umbrellas, and more to set a tone for the occasion that was traditional yet quirky.
Dandiya and Garba Night
The evening was ripe with the energy of excitement of Dandiya and Garba Night as everyone geared up for a night of high-octane festivities. The couple made a magnificent arrival, sitting on a mobile installation with the backdrop of Lord Krishna’s graceful hands holding a flute, as a team of dancers led the way with their incredible performance and fireworks.
Hawaiian Carnival
The next morning began with an exuberant Hawaiian Carnival with the stunning decor of tropical plants, flamingoes, and more. Dressed in floral ensembles, garlands, and hats, the guests were welcomed to sit in a drum circle as they enjoyed Hawaiian music and games such as the Limbo. Stalls for balloon shooting, cotton candy, live artists, and personalized takeaways, made the day all the more memorable.
Wedding
Royal but with a twist, the wedding was imagined in a romantic yet regal color palette of soft peach and pinks. Every moment was full of pomp and splendor, starting with the boisterous baraat with a stunning view of the Aravalli mountains. The bride and groom arrived with grand entourages carrying candelabras before exchanging varmalas in a grand display of fireworks. The couple then changed into their wedding avatar of blush pink and made a second, but no less grand entry with performers. The two tied the knot surrounded by the love and blessings of their loved ones.
