Stacey and Ruel, Goa

Their love commenced from an old childhood photo, and his proposal to her was one of the most impressive ones we have come across in a long time! Ruel and Stacy tied the knot in Goa after more than a decade of togetherness. Their charming wedding celebrations were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Magic Motion Media.

How They Met
Stacey shares, “Our meeting was one of those serendipitous coincidences you hear about in life. I met Ruel through my cousin who used to be friends with him in school. We were going through some old photographs and we discovered one from our childhood where we both were captured in the same frame, even though we never came face-to-face. How crazy is it to find a 20-year-old photo and discover your future husband had crossed paths with you unknowingly! Over time we also discovered a ton of relatives and friends who were common to our families, right up to our wedding, which ended up being a delightful reunion for many of them.”

The Proposal
Ruel’s painstakingly planned and executed proposal broke the barriers of creativity. Carried out in a movie theatre in Dubai, he wrote and performed a spectacular song chronicling their journey and what Stacey meant to him. He even documented the ring selection and him asking her father for permission, all of which was recorded in a video that played on the big screen as Stacey sat there clueless, expecting to see a movie. As the video unfolded, tears misted her eyes as she realized the magnitude of what was happening. She jumped out of her chair when she saw that her entire family was also included in the video. And when she turned around, she saw the love of her life standing in front of her with a rose and a ring in his hands.

Wedding Venue
Stacey shares, “We both hail from Goa and wanted to begin our next chapter in our hometown with all our friends and family. The wedding was performed traditionally in a church and the reception dinner was held at thebeautiful Bay 15 Beach Resort in Panaji.”

Wedding Planning
“The Goan coastline is famous for its beauty and people flock here to get perfect romantic sunset pictures. We wanted to make the most of the scenic beauty we had at our disposal. We chose Magic Motion Media to capture the festivities, and we couldn’t be happier with the clicks. The decor for the functions was executed by KV Decor, while the wedding cake was created by the Sweet Rhapsody team.”

Wedding
The wedding festivities began at the beautiful Bay 15 Beach Resorts with adorable bridesmaids and groomsmen shoots while the couple got ready for the function. The candid clicks captured the fun and joy that Stacey and Ruel felt with their friends as they embarked on a new journey. The groom’s gang looked dapper in pewter grey waistcoats and trousers accessorized with white boutonnieres and vintage pocket watches. The bridesmaids donned breezy blush dresses. The ceremony took place in a traditional setting in a church, followed by the bouquet toss and a couple photoshoot atop the hill against the setting sun.

Reception
The wedding was followed by a formal reception dinner at the Bay 15 Beach resort in Panaji. The spectacular canopy atop the dance floor was decorated with fairy lights, Edison bulbs, and crystal hangings intertwined with foliage and flowers. The white and gold three-tier cake topped with fresh flowers from Sweet Rhapsody was a show stopper. Heartfelt speeches and champagne toasts were followed by a night of fun and dancing as everyone enjoyed to their hearts’ content.
