How They Met
Sunita shares, “Kam and me met through a mutual friend, falling in love in just a few months. It was a whirlwind romance, and once we realized the chemistry between us, there was absolutely no looking back!”
Considering the challenges of the Pandemic, the couple decided to tie the knot with a memorable yet safe and practical wedding celebration. Their gorgeous intimate pre-wedding ceremonies at home, as well as their wedding at the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend saw breathtaking décor, tranquil moments and an abundance of joy.
The bride worked in tandem with the team of Dream Occasions to bring her visions to life, resulting in beautifully designed themed décors for each function that exuded grandeur. Incredible couture pieces from Sabyasachi Mukherjee enrobed the couple in royalty for most of the functions, while exclusive ornaments from Sabyasachi Jewellery and Amrapali Jewels added to their splendor. Their special moments were frozen in flawless shots by Eyejogia.
The festivities kicked off with an intimate yet grand engagement dinner. Decked with arrangements of white blooms and candles, the grandeur of the event was a spectacle to behold. Wearing a dapper blue suit and a statement velvet wine-hued Sabyasachi sari respectively, the groom and bride glowed with happiness.
Swapping out traditional sunny tones for a dainty palette of pink and white, the couple embraced a dreamy, romantic atmosphere for the intimate Haldi. A canopy of tinsel with roses lit up the space with fresh flowers and white candles, further adding to the whimsical mood. Dressed in a pink Anita Dongre lehenga, the bride was doused in turmeric paste and flower petals by her loved ones.
The mehndi celebration was a confluence of vibrant décor and cheerful festivities. A colorful mix of drapes, flowers, tassels, traditional ornaments and more, painted a riveting picture against the lush velvet backdrop. The couple looked radiant in coordinated Sabyasachi outfits of fuchsia, lime, purple and yellow.
Magnificent décor of ivory and peach lit up the mauve velvet backdrop for a glamorous Choora ceremony. Chandeliers, shimmering lights and floating candles added to the elegance of the event, while golden vases filled with flowers added a royal touch. The bride exuded grandeur in an ivory Sabyasachi lehenga for this function.
Ethereal décor set a tranquil ambience for the auspicious nuptials against the divine backdrop of London’s Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara. Dressed in elegant ensembles of ivory and red by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the couple’s special moments with their families were framed beautifully against the stunning architecture and vibrant colors of their wedding. The ceremony was followed by an intimate cake-cutting and sumptuous lunch that marked the end of the festivities.
Advice for couples
“Having a close-knit wedding, especially in a place that is close to your heart, is a very special way to tie the knot! Not only is one in complete control of the guest list, but the wedding ceremony itself is more relaxed, comfortable, and fun! For us, there were no delays or worries about the budget, and with pre-wedding stress being the last thing on our minds, we were able to completely concentrate on each other. The most important thing is to keep an open mind and make adjustments wherever you deem fit.”
