How we met
Tanya had always dreamed of finding true love, getting married and devoting her life to a family. Her friends Piya and Ankit introduced her to the dating app and told her to just get on it, go out and have a little fun. Tanya met Ameya and starting chatting with him last June and agreed to meet at the Social, a bar in Mumbai. They then decided to visit the Sula vineyards together. They suspected they were falling for each other but decided to play it cool even after Ameya, at Sula, suggested things may be going quickly for them. Tanya kept her reaction to herself but slyly shared Ameya’s birthdate with her mom for a quick kundali-match.

When Tanya’s parents met Ameya the following week, they adored him! Then it was time to meet Ameya’s friends and family in Goa and that went off wonderfully too! It was super quick but their instincts were spot on – this was the right thing to do. The two were in perfect synch.

Wedding Planning
“Personalization was the keyword in our wedding planning. We wanted our wedding invitations to truly reflect us individually but also as one unit. After a month-long hunt for a graphic designer, we found Lipika Sharma through a mutual business associate. Our wedding was a really intimate affair so much so that we only sent out e-invites which spoke about us, about the wedding and detailed the itinerary.

As for the wedding planners, my brief to the team of ‘The Big Night’ was these four concept prompts; Vintage with a pinch of drama (because that’s quintessentially me), Minimal, Classic, Lots of Fairy lights (after all this was the stuff that my dreams were made of). After 4 months of insane ideation and hard work and one location recce to Goa, what we saw was perfection to the absolute T.

When it came to shortlisting a photographer, Natasha of ‘The Storyteller’ was the perfect choice for us. Her ability to capture the reality in every moment really impressed us. Professional in her conduct, precise with directions and absolutely clear about what she wanted to achieve, she had it all lined up. My shortlist was made fairly quickly (as I knew that no one else could capture all the drama that I was capable of better than her).”

Wedding Venue
When the couple started looking for hotels, everything was booked but then Novotel Goa Resort and Spa came on board. Tanya didn’t have to go check the property as she was 100% sure about Accor group hotels. The hotel was super cooperative and also helped them plan the food so well.

Wedding Functions

Haldi
With a beautiful backdrop full of marigolds, the theme of the function included bright colors like yellow, purple and pink. They had dholwalas as Tanya loves to dance. The beautiful bride was so excited that she got ready and went to the venue and waited for guests to come so she could dance and went around pulling people to dance with her.

The puja started and the ‘chudi rasam’ happened on Tanya’s side. On the other hand, Ameya’s family was having a haldi Holi.

Wedding
The colors used for the wedding were peach and pink. The venue was Verisibo at Novotel, a Balinese hall with red furniture, the space emanating earthiness with brown, red and green backdrops.

The bride and groom were color coordinated in peach and pinks. Tanya wore peach Banarasi nine-yard sari designed by Tanya Oak along with a red shawl, Ameya wore a beige and gold kurta and dhoti by the same designer. The mandap was made of roses and they kept it simple.

Reception
The reception saw everyone celebrating and toasting the newlyweds, as the fun came to its conclusion. Far from a formal reception, this party was exactly what Tanya had wanted. At Labrise, the Novotel beachside property, a five-minute drive from the hotel, the décor was all fairy lights against a palette of peach and gold.
