Tanya Gomber and Nabrun Choudhury, Taj Mahal, New Delhi
With each event flaunting a varied colour palette, this couple’s fusion wedding was a heady mix of hues and two rich cultures.
Tanya Gomber, a Manager at Coca Cola and Nabarun Choudhury, a brand manager at Godfrey Phillip’s fusion wedding in Delhi was a beautiful union that not only saw two happy individuals come together but also witnessed the boundaries blurring in between two rich cultures. Decorating this wedding was WeddingSutra Favorite – Yuna Weddings and Events who with their expertise struck the right balance between simplicity and elegance to orchestrate a stunning wedding.

Wedding Venue
Located in the heart of the city, the Taj Mahal in New Delhi resonated with the duo’s love for Indian hospitality and modern aesthetics. Its close proximity to heritage wonders and stunning aerial views made it the ideal venue to host their wedding. The property with its new-age Indian interiors that also reflect the rich history of India exudes a sense of old-school glamour which remains relevant even in today’s dynamic times. Plus, there is always the famed hospitality of Taj which ensured that everyone had a gala time at the wedding!

Wedding Planning
Mukta Kapoor from Yuna Weddings and Events shares, “The couple initially wanted the wedding to be in the mountain with their close friends and family as it was where their love began. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, that plan didn’t see the light of the day. However, the duo was determined and decided to host a wedding during the Delhi winter when the weather is almost as cold as the weather up in the mountains. What began by being an intimate affair quickly turned into a larger wedding as both sides invited all their loved ones.” Describing the brief shared by the bride and how the planning team brought it to life, Mukta adds, “The bride’s brief was simple – keep it subtle but beautiful. She wanted all three functions to look different and that is exactly what we orchestrated. The wedding was swathed in red and white hues while the mehndi was covered in brighter hues. The engagement, however, was contemporary Indian.”

Weddings Functions
Engagement
Mukta shares, “For the engagement, we followed a contemporary Indian theme that was accentuated by rustic elements like pampas grass, blooms and greenery that adorned a wooden arch. It was a chic affair and the entire theme was white and gold. In the midst of it all, peach and baby pink blooms added a dash of colour.”

Mehndi
For the mehndi, the vibrancy was amped up a notch with colourful parasols, fabrics, quirky garlands and fans. Mukta shares, “Keeping Tanya’s preferences in mind, we made sure that the colours packed a punch at the mehndi event. Desi colours, like, rani pink and mango yellow were used in abundance to reflect the festivity of the occasion.

Wedding
Mukta shares, “Taking a cue from Tanya, the wedding was kept simple and elegant with generous use of roses and mogra flowers. The red and white theme added an aura of peace to the proceedings effortlessly. From a decorator’s perspective, we did experience a time crunch as we just had a few hours to decorate the venue. Thankfully, everything went ahead smoothly and we were able to construct a stunning vedi along with a beautiful jaimala backdrop that added to the beauty of the decor.
