Tuhina and Filip, Noida

Just like in the movies, Tuhina and Filip found love in their college library. They shared an instant connection that grew into a serious relationship.

Here the bride shared with us the highlights from their wedding.

How We Met
We met at the library at the London School of Economics and Political Science and once we got talking, our conversation continued for 40 minutes straight. We had exams and submissions the very next day but at that moment, it did not matter. Time just flew and there was definitely a strong spark.

Proposal
Filip proposed on a long stretch of a beautiful, empty beach in Sri Lanka. We both absolutely love beaches so the location held significance to both of us. What was surprising was that somehow we had it all to ourselves which made the occasion all the more special.

Wedding Venue
Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort in Greater Noida is a beautiful property with a lot of space which we loved. The Stellar Gymkhana was another venue for our function. They have these amazing lawns and were super flexible with all our requirements.

Wedding Planning
Our wedding was planned by Panodrama Events and they made everything an absolute cakewalk. I am so glad we hired them to orchestrate our big day! The passion, love and sincerity with which they delivered was extraordinary. I especially loved how they were always up for a challenge even if I threw it at them at the very last minute.

Taking care of our decor was RashiNidhi Events who had so many ideas to offer! They brought our vision to life and it was so much fun working with them.

Jasmeet Kapany effortlessly created some very different looks for me for each of the functions and by the end of the wedding, I couldn’t decide which one was my favourite!

RPS Films was in charge of the videography and are absolutely amazing at their work. Everything that they do comes very naturally to them. Not only are they great to work with but also to have around you.

Morvi of Morvi Images clicked our wedding photographs. Beautiful name, beautiful person and a beautiful photographer – is what I have to say for her. Hiring her was one of the best decisions I made – it has been an absolute delight to have her cover our wedding. I don’t think anyone can make a bride look better than she can. It’s like she sees them differently and translates that into a beautiful picture. A true magician!

She can capture it ALL – candids, couple shots, close-ups and amazing group pictures. But even more importantly she is a super warm, beautiful person and it is heartwarming to have her around; so very passionate, super professional and has a great team working with her who are always all smiles! They all just brought a lot of happiness to our wedding and we couldn’t have asked for more.

Wedding Functions

Welcome dinner
We had a sit-down dinner for close family and friends. We’d envisioned modern Sufi décor. I really wanted a lavender, lilac touch to go with our outfits. RashiNidhi did an amazing job bringing that vision to life. The soft hues with beautiful flowers and Moroccan lamps looked gorgeous. To match the mood, I wore a white lehenga by Nadine Dhody and Filip wore an Indo-Western outfit by Dhruv Vaish.

Mehndi
The decor brief for this function was to create a tropical mela; so we had a mash-up of flamingos, pineapples, fresh blooms, along with bright buntings and Rajasthani mirror work. (We also had some traditional German cookies on a thela.)

For this event, both, Filip and I opted for ensembles by Akanksha Gajria. I wore a lehenga in white, pink and green while he wore a powder blue kurta with a floral print bandi.

Sangeet
The setup for our sangeet was in blue and silver. The entrance was bathed in blue light and shimmering elements were included at our photo-booth as well as the stage. To go with the mood, I picked light blue lehenga by Mrunalini Rao.

Wedding
At our wedding, we had lots of lotuses everywhere. A symbol of purity, the lotus was the perfect motif to surround ourselves with at the start of this new chapter in our lives. The colors that comprised the decor for the night was blush, cream gold and red.

I entered the venue in a red Sabyasachi lehenga but changed into a yellow saree by Aastha Narang for the pheras. In our family, brides have to change into a saree of this colour for the pheras and I had grown up watching these beautiful brides in yellow so absolutely wanted to wear one too! Filip wore a beige sherwani by Diwan Sahib and teamed it with a lime green dupatta and saafa.

Advice For Couples

1. Remember to enjoy the process of planning as well! Once it’s over you will miss it.

2. Choose outfits in a way so you can enjoy yourself – I wore a nice, easy breezy, short length lehenga for my sangeet, giving the high heels and heavy jewellery a miss so I could dance my heart out!
