Twinkle Uppal and Saharsh Agarwal, Goa
This couple’s intimate outdoor wedding painted a vibrant picture of love against the striking blue backdrop of the Arabian Sea.
Celebrating a decade of love and togetherness, Twinkle Uppal and Saharsh Agarwal tied the knot in a dreamy beach wedding brimming with colors and enjoyment. Watch every moment of their gorgeous festivities come alive in these joyous snapshots by WeddingSutra Favorite – WhatKnot.
How They Met
In a cute encounter worthy of a Bollywood romance, Twinkle was swept off her feet by Saharsh in 2011 during their college days at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. Twinkle was getting drenched in the rain while stepping out of her car when Saharsh offered her his umbrella, and that’s when their story began.
Recreating the magic of their first encounter Saharsh confessed his love to Twinkle in the rain with a rose in hand, he also promised that someday he would propose to her on a beach. True to his word, he popped the question in a heartwarming proposal on the beach in Koh Samui in 2019. After all, some people do get their fairytale!
Wedding Planning
As a poetic tribute to their mutual love for water, the couple chose to wed at the stunning property of Goa Marriott Resort & Spa in Panjim with unrestricted views of the ocean. With both of them being ardent planners, they decided to undertake all the planning responsibilities themselves. While Saharsh took over the logistics, finances, vendors, RSVPs and other technical aspects, Twinkle helmed all things creative as she conceptualized the decor, music and overall experience.
Few things like venue, decor and photography held the topmost priority for them, and with the first two taken care of, they entrusted the team of WhatKnot. to capture the rest which they aptly did to perfection. Talking about their experience, they shared, “We of course relied heavily on social media, websites, word of mouth etc., but we also chose vendors with whom we felt a personal connection during our interaction. The team of WhatKnot created an instant impression and we are grateful to them for this most amazing experience. They became a part of the family and all our festivities while capturing the truest of emotions and giving us shots to treasure forever”.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The wedding festivities kicked off with a Mediterranean-inspired Mehndi that had a striking decor of blue and white. Stunning Portuguese Azulejos contrasted with the vibrant fuchsia of bougainvillaea and wooden furniture for the feel of a backyard gathering, all of which looked beautiful against the backdrop of the sea. Wedding favor corners of hats and drawing stations added a fun flavor to the event as the bride got her hands painted with henna.
Sangeet
The festivities continued with an intimate Sangeet soiree complete with starry lights, red roses, scented candles, ballroom music and wine for an evening brimming with romance. The couple and their loved ones danced and enjoyed to their hearts’ content.
Haldi
The customary yellow decor for the Haldi got a modern update with a striking couple-corner orchestrated entirely out of sunflowers that made for a beautiful backdrop with the foamy waves beyond. Smoke bombs filled the air with colors of joy as everyone gathered around the couple for the ceremony. With a mutual dislike for the aroma of raw Haldi, the couple replaced it with a nifty blend of Vicco Turmeric, Forest Essentials ubtan and rose water for a fun twist.
Wedding
The beguiling floral beach wedding was high on both merriment and emotions. From the rousing baraat which prompted the bride to start grooving on her balcony to her memorable entry with her parents and sister to the song ‘Madhubala’ by Amit Trivedi as her loved ones rang bells in unison. Since the rain had played cupid to their love, they exchanged varmalas to the tune of ‘Boondon ke Moti’ from Wake Up Sid, a quintessential rain song.
Inspired by their love for nature, the blooming mandap was designed in soft hues of lilac and white with crystals abounding. Amidst great cheer and joy, the couple tied the knot with sunset pheras as iconic Bollywood phera songs played in the background to create their own personal Bollywood movie wedding.
Beach party
The celebrations wound down with a laidback beach party reception so the couple could relax and enjoy themselves with their friends and family. Sans heels and formal wedding attire, everyone got down to the beach to unwind, eat and dance the night away.
