How they Met
I’m a film editor and I met Karan (an orthodontist) three years ago in Bangalore. We enjoyed each other’s company and fell in love instantly! After a courtship of two years, Karan decided it was time to pop the question. He proposed to me on in a beautiful restaurant, 18 stories high, and presented me with his family heirloom ring which was very special.

Wedding Venue
Coorg in December is beautiful and so an obvious choice for us. We chose Palm Valley Resort in Gonikoppal as we wanted an outdoor wedding; besides, the property is not only lovely, it could accommodate our huge guest list!

Wedding functions

Wedding
We wanted to keep the decor simple and elegant for our wedding functions. Since both were outdoor events, our wedding planner suggested we play with light to give the venue a magical effect. We chose an array of lighting – bulbs, fairy lights and even candles. A bonfire added a rustic tough and each table had beautiful shawls as giveaways. There were quirky chalkboard signs at the entrance of the bar for a little bit of fun. White was the main color scheme; our stage was made of white lace, decorated with chrysanthemums, roses and orchids with beautiful brass lamps hung right in the center. At the wedding, I wore a traditional Coorg saree from Vimor in pink and orange with full zari and a custom Moosk (veil). Karan wore a traditional white Kupya and Chale (mid length tunic and sash) with ancestral silver Peechekathi and Odikathi (ornamental dagger). My makeup was simple and elegant. Makeup artist Tejal Rao understood my love for subtlety and crafted a traditional makeup look which was flawless.

Reception
Our reception was a relaxed affair where family and friends could let their hair down. The décor too was kept simple to add to the laissez-faire spirit of the celebrations. For our reception, I wore a custom lehenga in pale pink by a local designer and accessorized with my mother’s diamond and pearl jewellery. Karanwore a custom blue suit with contrasting pink tie.
