Vickie and Neel, Dubai

They say there is nothing better than falling in love with your friend. For friends turned soulmates Vickie and Neel, a memorable proposal during a helicopter ride over London was followed by a stunning destination beach wedding in Dubai organized by WeddingSutra Favourite – Vivaah Weddings. Here are some glimpses into the festivities.

How they met
Vickie and Neel had been friends for years before Neel, who pursues flying as a hobby, took Vickie flying one day. The thrill of soaring in the sky with just one another made sparks fly, and they knew their relationship had taken a turn for the better.

The Proposal
After six years of togetherness, there are often very few surprises left. But Neel managed to sweep Vickie off her feet yet again with a surprise proposal while they were on a helicopter ride over London, admiring the city’s views from above.

“We both knew we wanted a destination wedding near the beach with good weather and a great variety of food, and Dubai fit the bill perfectly. We both had been to Dubai several times and loved the idea of getting married there. We chose The Ritz Carlton on Jumeirah Beach Road for our wedding.”

Wedding Planning
“After a lot of research, we found Vivaah Weddings that came highly recommended for planning luxurious Indian weddings in Dubai and loved their eagerness and expertise when we contacted them. They looked after every little detail for all of the three functions, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Wedding Functions

Sangeet
The festivities kicked off with a welcome party and sangeet held outdoors. The decor borrowed inspiration from Arabic themes and included elements and accents typical to the region. Apart from family performances, the night’s entertainment included belly dancers and music by an Arabic band. The guests were further delighted by a henna artist and a bangle making station.

Wedding
“I had always dreamed of a beach wedding and Vivaah Weddings surpassed all expectations in making it come true. Our wedding took place at sunset overlooking the lapping waves incorporating both Gujarati and Punjabi nuptial rituals. The floral decor complemented the serene environs and we couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect setting for our holy vows.”

Reception
After two outdoor ceremonies, the reception was held at the lavish ballroom. The evening saw a variety of entertainment throughout the night, from a live red carpet and a live band performance by Rooh band to an LED Robert performance with a harpist.

The riveting three-day extravaganza was succeeded by a serene getaway in Vietnam, where the couple relaxed after the hectic schedule and geared up for their life ahead.
