Vidhi and Devashya, Four Points by Sheraton Confluence, Mahabalipuram

From DIY counters, hot air balloon installations, to a night-sky inspired Sangeet, this wedding was one big joy ride!

For their Mahabalipuram wedding, Vidhi Kankaria, a portrait artist, and Devashya Chopra, a business professional, wanted to celebrate their mutual love for travel. And so, it was around these themes that the fun celebrations were woven, by WeddingSutra Favorite – Dream Capture Events.

Wedding Planning
The couple shared a short, but clear list of what they wanted to the team at Dream Capture Events. They wanted balloons to be incorporated in the Haldi, but didn’t want it to look like a child’s birthday party. For the Sangeet they wanted something minimalistic, and for the wedding, they wanted a “Raja Raani feel” to their celebrations.

Haldi
Themed Bon Voyage, the event was created to kindle joy—light, carefree, and filled with energy, just like the start of a great adventure. Decor elements included a hot air balloon installation, and a swirl structure at the entrance.
Guests were kept engaged with DIY counters like a perfume bar, a jewellery station, customised hats counter, and a glitter bar.

Sangeet
The sangeet evening had a celestial theme—“Fly Me to the Moon”. It was all about glamor, sparkle, and magic. The decor was inspired by the night sky: deep navy, silver, and midnight tones with mirror accents, starry projections, and floating moon-shaped installations.

Wedding
The majestic wedding ceremony was set around the theme “The Rajasi Chowk”—a celebration of regal Indian traditions with a royal courtyard aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from Rajasthani palatial architecture, the decor featured hand-carved pillars, mirror work, and an opulent palette of gold, ivory, white and peach.
The mandap stood out very well with a water body in the front, where the Jaimala was held.
