How They Met
Parmeet and Vinisha met almost eight years ago at a common friend’s birthday party. There was an instant connection between them, and their love grew as they bonded over sports, sushi, and margaritas.

The Proposal
Parmeet proposed Vinisha at his boarding school in Shimla in January. The cricket ground was covered in snow, but he still got down on his knees there and asked her to play his lifetime innings with him.

Wedding Venue
“A Sikh Punjabi boy and a Christian Malayali girl found Goa to be their midpoint to tie the knot. After screening through almost every hotel in north and south Goa, our last stop was Marriott Resorts and Spa – Goa. On entering, we knew this was the place. The lobby set on the sea with a view of the sunset, had us jump into the pool and it felt perfect.”

Wedding Planning
“Our wedding planner was Purple Tree Events, and their team did a fantastic job in presenting both Sikh and Christian wedding elements beautifully. Doodle Studio shot our wedding photos and videos, and they did a fantastic job with the wedding preview video that was played at the reception evening. Rimple and Harpreet Narula (Parmeet’s sister and brother-in-law) were the apparel designers for the couple and their entire families. “The work they put in and the way they understood our bodies and preferences, I could not ask for anything better. As a bride, the one thing you are most stressed about is the wedding outfits. However, with my sister and brother-in-law, I was so lucky to have absolute professionals who understood my tastes and took care of my needs.”

Wedding Functions
“To accommodate both cultures and religions, we split the functions accordingly.

Pool Party
“A vibrant pool party that set the tone for the rest of the wedding. It was the most fun and energetic way for us to welcome our guests. We chose bright colors and a funky set up with some quirky decor elements for this event.”

Sangeet
“The first night was a ‘Punjabi Night’-themed Sangeet. It was a typical, crazy Punjabi party! We had a theme that highlighted the many elements of a Punjabi ‘mela’ (fair), and we opted for a lot of colorful decor elements. The night started off with our grand entrance followed by family performances.”

‘Anand Karaj’
“The following morning we had the ‘Anand Karaj’ (Sikh wedding ceremony) followed by a high spirited Bollywood night.” For the traditional Anand Karaj ceremony, drapes and flowers made the mandap look elegant and warm. The theme for the wedding was all about tradition. The couple also wore lovely traditional ensembles. Gold, light purple, and pink was the color palette for the decor, and the hues worked beautifully together to make the venue look magical and inviting.”

‘Bollywood Night’
The fun ‘Bollywood Night’ witnessed a decor theme that matched perfectly with the red carpet concept similar to a Bollywood awards night. A color palette of red and gold dominated the decor at the venue where guests enjoyed some good music. Vinisha and Parmeet also gave a special dance performance and were later joined by family and friends.

Catholic Wedding
The following day was a sunset Christian wedding by the sea followed by a grand reception. The decor for the white wedding was minimalistic, elegant and fresh. Their wedding venue was a pastel delight with fresh flowers and crisp white accents. The Catholic wedding was followed a glitzy after party that concluded this beautiful celebration.
