Zinal and Aditya, The Turf By Vikrama, Vadodara
This opulent wedding sets a benchmark with its minimalistic decor, classy setting and artistically documented moments.
The couple, Aditya and Zinal, went from being companions to friends, then from lovers to life partners, and the magical moments during their pledge of life-long commitment was superbly-captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Oragraphy.
How They Met
For Aditya and Zinal, a sweet school romance evolved into an eternal bond. The couple were friends in school but never confessed their fondness for each other. After they graduated, they had no intention of pursuing each other, however, fate had different plans. Like any good romantic story, theirs too had unlikely twists. The two parted ways when Zinal moved to Pune to pursue her education but love prevailed and they soon realized that they wanted to be together.
Wedding Planning
Aditya and Zinal started planning their wedding a year in advance to ensure they had enough time. From the invitation cards to the mandap, they were very clear about what they wanted. Their personalized wedding invitations were sent out along with a potted plant with #TheAaziWedding printed on it. They chose an interesting way to finalize the color theme, sending out a shade card to close relatives and friends to help them decide. This led them to choose green for the mehndi, deep colors for the sangeet and pastels for the wedding. Zinal, a celebrated designer in Vadodara, put a lot of thought into creating outfits for herself and Aditya for each ceremony.
Wedding Functions
Engagement
The engagement ceremony that marked their first step towards their grand wedding also marked the beginning of the festivities. For the ceremony, the bride chose an embellished purple outfit and accessorized it with a pair of earrings and chandbali maang tikka while Aditya wore a complementing bandhgala set in the tones of mauve. The outfits were custom-made for the couple by the bride’s own fashion label – Payal & Zinal. During the engagement ceremony, Aditya went down on one knee as he slid a ring onto his bride’s finger making everyone cheer for them and turning Zinal into a blushing bride.
Haldi
A haldi ceremony kicked started #TheAaziWedding celebrations. The groom-to-be was doused with turmeric while family members and bridesmaids applied a mix of turmeric and other natural ingredients to the bride. Team Oragraphy, captured all the warm and light-hearted moments from the ceremony.
Mehndi
The mehndi ceremony that followed was a super fun affair. Strings of white, yellow and orange flowers were used to decorate the blue canopy for the ceremony, creating a stunning backdrop. Zinal decided to experiment with his look, wearing a quirky looking white and green outfit that had ‘AaZi’ printed all over it. Aditya’s dark green outfit complemented her attire perfectly.
Sangeet
The couple thoroughly enjoyed themselves on the sangeet night. For this entertaining evening, the bride designed a stunning cocktail co-ord set for herself and an embellished suit set for Aditya. The groom, being a huge SRK fan, entered like Shah Rukh Khan and both of them gave a 23 minute-long performance to the superstar’s most famous songs.
Wedding
The stage was set for the big day, laden with branches and scattered flowers, lending it a fairytale vibe. The photography team took mesmerizing shots of the couple and the decor prior to the wedding rituals. For the big day, Zinal drew inspiration from something she was working on: a project that focused on breaking gender stereotypes. She wore a pastel blue lehenga and Aditya wore a pastel pink sherwani. With twinkling lights, music and joyous vibes surrounding them, the couple went from being lovers to life partners, the happiness in their hearts matching the smiles on their faces.
