How They Met
Sarwang shares, “Our journey started off like many other couples in India. Aditi and I first saw each other on a matrimonial website. After talking for some time, we realized that there was a mutual connection between us which spurred us to explore life together. Honestly, I didn’t believe in love at first sight before but after meeting Aditi, I’ve changed my opinion!”

Honeymoon Planning
“Since we wanted to go to a place where we could enjoy the city during the summertime, the Nothern Hemisphere was promptly struck off our list. After much deliberation, we finalized New Zealand after considering Bali, Spain, and the Maldives, and are really happy we did so. With an aim to relax and experience the culture of the country, we explored New Zealand to the best of our abilities!”

Honeymoon Highlights
“Since we wanted to experience the local culture first hand in Rotorua, we eschewed a hotel and booked an Airbnb instead. Equipped with a lakeside garden and outdoor seating, the property was spectacular. Apart from that we also visited Auckland, Matamata, Wai-O-Tapu, Queenstown, Milford Sound, Wanaka, Te-Anau, and Glenorchy. Each of these places was delightful in its own way, but, if you’re a ‘Lord Of The Rings’ fan then you should definitely make a stop at Hobbiton. We also took a long drive from Queenstown and Glenorchy which was a feast for the eyes.”

Best Meal of The Trip
“We had the best dessert of our lives at Miann in Auckland. Famed for their hot chocolate and pastries, our minds were blown from the first spoonful itself. Also, FergBaker in Queenstown is worth a visit for its exquisite collection of pies and bread.”

Most Romantic Moment
“There were two instances that bonded us deeply -the skywalk on the Sky Tower and a road trip from Queenstown to Glenorchy. Both of us are afraid of heights, so the skywalk was a daunting task for us. However, we managed to encourage each other. When we walked out on the ledge, we held each other’s hands and slowly started making our way. At that moment, we felt a strong connection as we both realized that we were ready to face anything that life throws at us. The second instance was a much more peaceful one where we together experienced the beauty of New Zealand with its picturesque lakes and mountains during our car ride. Coincidentally, the journey from Queenstown to Glenorchy fell on my birthday which made it even more memorable.”

Must-experience Activities
“Couples must do bungee jumping or sky diving if they love adventure. The Shotover Jet is just amazing. A day trip to Milford Sound is a bit tiring but worth it.”

Can-avoid
“Unfortunately we didn’t have a pleasant flight into Queenstown. In fact, it was one of the bumpiest airports and the worst turbulence we’ve ever experienced. Instead, taking a vintage train from Christchurch is the best option.”

Must-avoid
“Wai-O-Tapu can be avoided if one is short on time since its just an old volcanic site filled with sulphur fumes.”
