Akshaya and Sagar's most romantic moment took place deep under water during their adventurous multi-city Australia honeymoon
Akshaya and Sagar met on a group tour in Malaysia eight years ago as their parents were good friends. It was love at first sight for the young couple, and the rest is history. Akshaya, a doctor by profession, wed Sagar, a restaurateur, in December last year in Mumbai. Here, Akshaya share memories of their amazing honeymoon in Australia.

“Sagar and I are very adventurous and wanted to visit some destination which would satisfy this side of us. We considered New Zealand at first, but since I had already visited it, we decided on Australia. We considered places like Spain and Rome too, but they were freezing at that time.”
Honeymoon Highlight
“Our honeymoon and diverse experiences in Australia were awesome – it is a beautiful country with beautiful people. We explored Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns, Brisbane and Gold Coast. We stayed at Holiday Inn in Melbourne, Park Plaza in Sydney, Rydges Esplanade Resort in Cairns and Mantra Legends at Gold Coast.”
Best Meal
“Our best meal of the trip was at Govindas at Gold Coast. It was a vegan buffet with great food. We also enjoyed dining at some restaurants at Darling Harbor in Sydney which offered superb cuisine.”
Most Romantic
“Our most romantic moment for us was when we went scuba diving and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. Being underwater together was a fabulous experience!”
Advice for couples
“If you have enough days, plan a short visit to New Zealand too because both countries are absolutely worth it.”

“Great Barrier Reef is a must-visit before it gets extinct. Also, make sure to visit the impressive Sydney Darling Harbour.”
