Arti and Udbhav, Maldives

Udbhav and Arti’s honeymoon was all about relaxing on the beaches and gazing at the stars in the Maldives.

The minute they connected, they connected. After a wedding that included functions across two cities in four days, they wanted to make the most of their quick, five-day honeymoon in the Maldives. On the list – relaxing and spending some time, just the two of them.

How We Met
“In today’s busy world, we met in the most practical way possible, online! He sent me a request on Jeevansathi where we both were managing our respective profiles. It felt right from the first time we spoke. We were in two different continents but the distance never felt significant. After 3 months of audio/video calling, we decided to meet in Delhi in April 2018. It was one of those rare moments when you just know that it is meant to be.

After that, we used up our entire leave to hang out with each other. We realized our families had an army connection too; both army kids, our families were posted in the same city long ago.

One thing led to another and it didn’t take us long to realize we were meant to be each other’s forever!”

Honeymoon Planning
“We wanted to optimize our leave and not waste time traveling. Also with wedding functions across two cities over four days, we needed a relaxing beach vacation away from the city so places like Paris were off the table. The Maldives was perfect. Close to India and being visa-free for Indians was the cherry on top!”

Best Meal Of The Trip
“The restaurant was within the resort itself. There was an Indian chef, Laxman who made our trip even more wonderful because the cuisine at the resort is one of the highlights of the place. We caught a fish ourselves and Laxman prepared it!”

Most Romantic Moment
“We booked a romantic dinner by the sea on one of the evenings after which we decided to go for a walk and ended up sitting on the beach. The sky was full of stars, the breeze was just perfect and the calming waves made it the most romantic moment for us. We just sat together for hours without realizing where time went.”

Advice For Couples

Must Experience
“Scuba diving is a must for everyone!”

Can Avoid
“Seaplanes! It’s much better to book a resort closer to the airport so that the resort ferry picks you up directly from the airport!”

Must Avoid
“Too much intimacy in public places. Not many are aware that Maldives is an Islamic country, so it’s highly recommended to avoid being intimate especially at public places like airports, etc.”
