“Both of us were keen on going to a tropical place where we could relax, soak in the sun, play in the waters and enjoy the property amenities. We didn’t consider any other place as we were sure about the Maldives. We were undecided between two and three properties there, but finally chose Shangri-La‘s Villingili Resort & Spa. It was one of the best decisions we made as we enjoyed ourselves to the fullest!”

“Shangri-La‘s Villingili Resort & Spa offered many activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, golf and star gazing so we did not step out of the property. Experiencing so many new activities took up most of our time and we created wonderful memories.”
Best Meal of the Trip
“The best restaurant of the property is Dr. Ali which serves Lebanese and Chinese cuisines. For starters at a romantic dinner, we had falafel balls and kung pao potato. For the main course, we opted for palak paneer with cheese garlic naan alongside seasoned dal with steamed rice. To finish off the meal, we ordered Chai Creme Brulee with mango sorbet. It was definitely the best meal of our honeymoon!”
Most Romantic Moment
“The most romantic moment for us was at the Mount Villingili which is in the southernmost tip of Maldives. We cycled all the way there to watch the sunset which made for a romantic moment that we will cherish forever. The view from there was absolutely breathtaking for us nature lovers.”
Advice for Honeymooners
“The only advice we would give to couples planning to head to the Maldives for their honeymoon is to make the most use of a property like Shangri-La‘s Villingili Resort & Spa. Try and book a longer holiday or honeymoon there as five days will feel like too short a time. In hindsight, we feel we should have spent longer there.”
