“Gurkirat and I met at a volunteering event called Culture Care in Sydney. We were working together and started talking and the conversations never ended!”

“After a week of wedding celebrations, the Maldives with its gorgeous overwater villas and laid-back vibe stood out as the best possible destination for our honeymoon. We considered Fiji, Hamilton Islands, and Bali, but in the end, we chose to sail all the way here.”

Every morning, we started the day with the gorgeous sunrise witnessed from our overwater villa! Bliss.”
Best Meal of The Trip
“One of the best dishes we had was fresh lobster with lemon and butter sauce served along with a huge selection of meat and seafood. This was definitely one of the most delicious meals. However, one night, I mentioned to my husband while we were at the buffet that I really wanted butter chicken and naan. I think the restaurant manager overheard me and he organized a private Indian dinner for us! That gesture was typical of the service at Jumeirah Vitavelli – universally impeccable, from room to the restaurant. Their food was truly impressive. Their staff were exceptionally welcoming and comforting. We look forward to going back there again.”
Most romantic moment
“The villa we stayed in faced east. Gurkirat and I woke up at about 6 a.m. to watch the sunrise. Reclining on the sunbeds outside, by our pool, waiting for the sun to appear was one of the most romantic moments of our honeymoon.
Another very memorable experience was when the hotel organized a romantic breakfast by the waters at our villa itself. This was beautiful.”
Advice To Couples
“I would advise honeymooners to pick an all-inclusive package when travelling to the Maldives as you might be able to avoid extra costs. Moreover, most resorts offer buffet meals and a great variety of activities.
It’s always a great idea to email the resort prior to your arrival and check with them if they offer any complimentary deals for newly wedded couples. Most resorts will pamper you and make you feel special during the course of your stay which will make your trip much more enjoyable.
Please take full advantage of the water activities offered at your resort. We enjoyed snorkelling and kayaking thoroughly.”
