Heena and Mandeep share some beautiful memories from their honeymoon in the Swiss Alps
Heena and Mandeep from Melbourne fell in love at work. They got married on November 22nd in Chandigarh, India and flew to Switzerland for their honeymoon soon after.
The bride says they initially wanted to go to Bora Bora “but having the wedding back in India made it impossible for us to travel there. So we went through the world’s most visited honeymoon countries and after months of discussion, decided on Switzerland.”
Honeymoon Highlights
We stayed at the Seehotel Hermitage, Luzern and Hotel Royal – St George, Interlaken. We visited the Chapel Bridge, Zurich, Mt Titlis, Mt Jungfrau, Matterhorn Zermatt, Piz Gloria and Bern.
Our best meal was at The Veranda Interlaken; classic Swiss cuisine, fondue and grilled fish.
Most romantic moment
On our last day, we decided to take time off. So we walked through the city of Interlaken, looking up at the snowcapped mountains, it was magical. We went to a Swiss pub called Hooters and had the most amazing time with the Swiss locals.
Must-experience
Stay in the countryside to enjoy the full Swiss Alps experience and travel back and forth from there. A must-see is Interlaken and Lake Thun – so blue it takes your breath away. The trains are awesome and Switzerland is really best seen on foot or using public transport.
Can-avoid
The museums are large and beautiful but if you’re not interested, you’ll have lots of other things to see.
