How We met
We met at University 10 years ago in the UK and have been together ever since. We live and work in London now and have just had our fairytale wedding at the Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur last month.
Honeymoon Planning
I wanted to have a dream beach honeymoon and was not willing to settle for anything less. A destination wedding is the hardest for a bride – from the planning, outfit trials and the wedding itself! All I wanted to do was relax on a beach bed, dive into the deep waters, sip a drink and be with the one I love. Maldives signified ultimate luxury, peace and indulgence for us and thus, we planned our 5 day trip to the dreamy island.
Honeymoon Highlights
We wanted to celebrate our wedding with a special location and couldn’t have asked for a better place than Taj Exotica Resort and Spa Maldives for our honeymoon! The property is nestled in one of the cozy corners of Male and offers some breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. We lived at the Ocean Villa which came attached with a private pool and had lovely four-course breakfasts, drinks and sheesha at the bar. Most importantly, we had our own personal butler taking care of our itinerary during our stay which felt very luxurious!

Best Meal
24 Degrees Restaurant is a must try if you are a foodie! We had the famous Lobster burger with Caviar and the portions were so generous that we couldn’t finish it till the last bite!
Most Romantic Moment
Our deep sea scuba diving experience was truly the most romantic escapade of our honeymoon. We were 15 meters deep in the middle of the Indian Ocean, just loving the different species of the underwater life. As clichéd as it may sound, we didn’t need words to communicate, we just knew that it was our moment.
Advice for Couples
If you are having a destination wedding that you know is going to be hectic, don’t think twice and just book the Maldives. You have the rest of your life to travel cities, but the special moments you get to share with loved one amidst nature are very precious.
