Minnu and Sreejit, Bali

Beaches, breakfast, volcanoes and watersports – this couple’s honeymoon in Bali was all Eat Pray Love.

Minnu and Sreejit’s wanted some respite from the heat and the chance to do some water sports on their honeymoon. That and more awaited them in blissful Bali where panoramic views, delectable cuisine, and even a fever brought them closer together.

How We Met
I wasn’t really looking to get married, but my relatives kept telling me about this talented, passionate artist who’d had a few exhibitions across several art galleries. I didn’t even know her name but then, as I was looking for a partner, I found her profile online. She was based in Dubai and I’d grown up in India but we did connect online and finally met in God’s Own Country, Kerala.

It could only have been fate that brought us together!

Honeymoon Planning
We wanted to escape the heat and that was a key factor in choosing our honeymoon destination. We had Bhutan and Vietnam on our short list but Bali has opportunities for water sports and that got us excited.

Honeymoon Highlights
While we enjoyed every second of our vacation, there were a few defining moments in the trip. We went to Ubud, a town in the uplands of Bali that is known as a center of traditional craft and dance. A lot of people would recognize this place from the movie Eat Pray Love. We also visited Mount Batur, an active volcano. Although it was a little away from Bali, the effort was worth it! The Nusa Lembongan Islands and the iconic Tanah Lot Temple were some of our favorite parts of our honeymoon.

Best Meal of The Trip
We were staying at Park Regis, Kuta and breakfast was at the hotel. Those, surprisingly, were the best meals of our trip. They offered a great spread and every dish packed just the right flavors. Their service was amazing as well!

Most Romantic Moment
While I know most people would think of candlelight dinners and long walks on the beach at the mention of the most romantic moment at their honeymoon, for my wife, it was quite different. On the last day of our trip, she was down with a fever. For her, the way I took care of her and was by her side all the time, made that day the most romantic one!

A trip to Kintamani and a lunch on Mount Batur from where the views are so breathtaking you will always cherish the moments you spent here.
