Neha and Sandeep – South Africa

They always wanted to go to South Africa for their honeymoon

Neha and Sandeep Singhal studied in the same university in Scotland and knew each other for a good two years before they tied the knot on February 8, 2014 in Raipur. Neha is a Scientist who works in the Genetics Department of Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Sandeep, an Engineer is the Managing Director of Sky Alloys and Power Private Ltd.

Neha and Sandeep always wanted to have a feel of an African continent, which is whythey locked upon South Africa as their honeymoon destination. “But being on a honeymoon, we also wanted one destination where we could do everything and hence our ultimate choice was Cape Town”, says Neha.

As both are very net savvy and have done a fair amount of travel booking online earlier, they managed to book their rooms by directly contacting the hotels and completed their flight bookings online. “After arriving we contacted the hotels customer care department to plan our schedule and days itinerary, and fortunately for us the Hotel Cape Royal staff was extremely helpful,” says Neha.

Cape Town

“Cape Town is a must visit if you like nature and the city in an amalgamated form. You can literally see high rise and mountains from every corner of the city,” says a joyous Neha.”Eating, drinking and travelling is not so expensive in Cape Town, especially if you compare it to some other destinations in the world”, says Sandeep who advises February as the right month to go there as the weather is perfect then. Adds Neha: “People in Cape Town are very tourist friendly. If you are interested in shopping for home decor items, you will find many road side shops that offer the same. They are reasonable and you will get everything you see in a mall.”

Places to visit

“We hired a car and turned everyday into a short road trip party. We would have breakfast at the Hotel Cape Royal and leave for some sightseeing via road. We covered Cape Point, Boulders Beach, Chapman’s Peak, Table Mountain,Camps Bay and Cheetah Farm,” they recall. We also visited wine lands, indulged in wine tasting sessions, clubbing and fine dining.”We spent 5 action packed days at Cape Town and left for a destination 400 km away from the city into the wilds i.e. Botlierskop Private Game Reserve.

Where to stay

We opted for luxury tents for the stay, 2 safaris, a walk with the tigers and we were served an amazing complimentary 8-course dinner during our stay. The drive back on the third day marked the end of this epic honeymoon,” says Neha.

The best part about being in Cape Town, they state, is that you can boast of a myriad of experiences at one place. “Be it a romantic getaway, adventure, leisure moments or a peek into an all-new culture…Cape Town offers it all.”
