Nidhi and Harsh first met in an arranged marriage setup that led to an uneventful first date. However, their initial bond evolved and deepened, and led to their grand wedding and gorgeous honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia. Here, Nidhi shares some highlights of their romantic holiday.
How They Met
Nidhi shares, “Harsh and I first met each other through an arranged marriage setup orchestrated by our families. At the time, I was least interested in meeting him as I was busy with my work and didn’t want anything to distract me. But destiny intervened. I remember running late for the meeting and being occupied with my phone as we made small talk. But Harsh remembered every single thing I said and noticed the tiniest details about me. In the end, we exchanged numbers after which our frequent chats via Whatsapp started. Even though he’d flown off to San Fransisco after our first meeting we were both keen to meet up again once he flew home. Luckily, I had a work assignment close to his house which allowed us to meet frequently. Slowly but steadily, our friendship blossomed into something deeper, and soon, I was head over heels in love with him!”
Honeymoon Planning
“We were actually quite short on time when it came to planning our honeymoon. However, as we are both fond of beaches, we zeroed in on Bali for its natural beauty, lovely beaches, and warm hospitality. Our other alternative was the Maldives but the time constraints forced us to discard it from our list.”
Best Meal of The Trip
“We had an amazing meal at the Potato Head Beach Club which also commands a fantastic view of the ocean. There were sleeping bags and couches right on the beach as well as a sprawling swimming pool. Their vegetarian selection was absolutely delicious and we relished our fill of cocktails!”
Most Romantic Moment
“Harsh had organized a surprise rooftop date for us in Alila Villas Uluwatu where a four-course meal awaited us in one of their ocean-view cabanas. Decorated with white lanterns and with a bottle of champagne waiting to be popped, the whole setup looked like it was straight out of a dream!”
Advice for Couples
“One should always do a thorough weather check before planning a trip to Bali as the weather there is quite unpredictable. Also, make sure you carry plenty of shorts and light clothes for the hot and humid daytime.”
