How We Met
“We met in London in 2013. He was pursuing a Masters, while I was in Summer School. Introduced to each other by a common friend, we happened to just ‘click’. We realized we were from the same city and had never seen each other and so it all went very dramatic very quickly. And here we are, each other’s partner in crime, for life.”
Honeymoon Planning
“We considered a planet worth of possible destinations but Europe had our heart. We picked Switzerland first and then drew an itinerary along the coast from Italy to France. This meant we would encounter mountains and beaches which was great because I love the beach and Samkit is a mountain person.”
Honeymoon Highlights
“Our journey was peaceful and gorgeous. We travelled in so many ways – a train ride up to Jungfrau inside a mountain, bike rides on the Amalfi Coast and Ibiza, a cruise from Interlaken to nearby towns.
Switzerland was all day trips from Interlaken, and going on dinner dates and walks at night. We bought a Swiss pass for 8 days and it proved to be very useful and convenient. The sunsets and starlit skies are a delight. We also indulged in an indoor pool with snowy views. It was zero degrees outside!
Halfway into the trip, we headed to the French Riviera, Ibiza and Barcelona for some sun. Monaco is an amazing town with all the paparazzi at the casino and Formula One racetrack. Barcelona has all kind of mesmerizing architecture. We saw many famous buildings like La Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila and others. Europe turned out to be the perfect blend of romance, beauty, adventure, relaxation and vibrant nature.”
Best meal of the trip
“We had a super yummy strawberry and raspberry cheesecake at KOKO Green Vegan Food. Being pure vegetarian, we explored many vegan restaurants!”
Most romantic moment
“Zermatt is one of the best places I have been to. It’s a winter fairytale. We went up to Gornergrat Bahn from where you can see the Matterhorn Mountain, which is very famous as it inspired the shape of Toblerone. When we reached the top of the mountain, we were playing with the snow and having fun and suddenly it began to snow. It was the most beautiful moment witnessing my first snowfall with my better half.”
Must-experience
“The beautiful landscapes of the Amalfi Coast are a must visit. Similarly, Zermatt is unmissable. It’s a car free zone and you ride to your hotel in battery-operated cars. It is rightly called ‘Heaven on Earth’.”
