Surrounded by the wild beauty of the African continent, this couple’s 15-day long honeymoon had equal parts of adventure and romance.
A classic story of friendship blooming into love, Pooja and Kaushal had known each other since childhood and, when love came knocking on their door, they welcomed it open-heartedly. After tying the knot in their hometown, the duo decided to take a 15-day long honeymoon in the wilderness of Africa by visiting Kenya and South Africa.
How they met
Pooja shares, “We were in the same class in school and were friends for a very long time. However, as we shifted to college our friendship was transformed into love and we’ve been together ever since.”
Honeymoon Planning
Describing their initial planning process, Pooja recollects, “We’d always wanted to traverse through Europe but unfortunately our tourist visa to Switzerland was rejected. This spurred us to look at a destination that wasn’t too run of the mill. And hence, we decided to go to South Africa and Kenya.”
Honeymoon Highlights
“We thoroughly enjoyed the wilderness of South Africa and Kenya. Seeing the ‘Big 5’ during the safari rides was absolutely thrilling. Furthermore, our time at Cape Town was extremely memorable as it is a beautiful city! All in all, we visited V & A Waterfront, Signal Hill, Hout Bay, Simons Town, Boulders Beach, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, Mossel Bay, Cango caves, Ostrich Farm, Bloukrans Bungee Bridge, Port Elizabeth, Johhansberg & Suncity in South Africa. And in Kenya, Nairobi, and Masai Mara.”
Most Romantic Moment
“We went for a helicopter ride in Cape Town and as the beauty of the city unfolded beneath us, we knew that we had taken the right decision to honeymoon here! Also, we shared some magical moments at Diaz Resort in Mossel Bay which offered us stunning views of the sea. We used to spend hours walking by the shore.”
Must-Experience
“One must absolutely try the helicopter ride as the views from the top are mesmerizing. Also, a trip to Masai Mara is strongly recommended if you love nature.”

“Refrain from venturing out alone. We traveled in a group which was much safer.”, advises Pooja.
