Priyajeet and Nisha, Maldives

Priyajeet and Nisha relished the privacy, pampering and feasting on world-class cuisines at their grand villa built over the ocean at Jumeirah Vittaveli Maldives.

Priyajeet and Nisha craved a leisurely honeymoon after their hectic wedding, and their dreamy break in Maldives turned out to be exactly what they wished for. Priyajeet shares some highlights here.

How We Met
“Nisha and I first connected through Shaadi.com and eventually started chatting on Facebook to forge a deeper connection, and we also met over coffee to find the spark We fell in love over a beach walk, and after 1.5 years of courtship, we sealed our bond with marriage.”

Honeymoon Planning
“After four days of our extravagant wedding celebrations, we wanted a peaceful destination to relax in for a week. We were clear that we wanted to avoid a lot of local/ intercity travel or shopping, so we ruled out a long European tour, especially fun and adventurous Eastern Europe hotspots. We narrowed our choices down to Santorini, in Greece and the Maldives, and researched the best properties at both destinations. We finally picked the Maldives as their luxurious properties offered extra privacy and quiet surroundings, and booked into the Jumeirah Vittaveli Maldives

Honeymoon Highlights
“At Jumeirah Vittaveli, we stayed in the Ocean Suite which was a beautiful two-storied grand villa built right over the ocean, and it comes with its own private infinity pool. We picked this resort because of their one-of-a-kind accommodations and wide dining options – from an overwater Mediterranean restaurant to a beach barbecue feast, private romantic dining and dedicated chefs.  We also enjoyed the various adventurous activities offered by the resort such as exploratory excursions, Signature Couple’s Spa Treatments, snorkeling, fishing and leisurely boat cruises.”

Best meal of the trip
“We relished the wide range of treats at the Sri Lankan Cuisines buffet which is a must for any visitor here! Our daily over generous In-Villa Breakfast was delivered to us by a speedboat. You can decide the menu of your breakfast with no limits on choice or quantity. The fresh seafood barbeque on the beach is a delight especially the lobsters for non-vegetarians. Nisha is a vegetarian and allergic to few food items so the staff made sure her dietary needs were taken care of. Jumeirah Vittaveli’s chef prepared a mouthwatering Veg Thai Green Curry with sticky rice specially for her.”

Most Romantic Moment
“The romantic candlelight dinner on the beach with live barbeque was simply unforgettable. It started with their team picking Nisha and I up from our villa and  taking us to a private beach area where a chef had prepared a barbecue spread only for us The path to the place on the beach was aesthetically lit and the ambiance was just mesmerizing.”

Must-experience
“Snorkeling with your partner in the private ocean area followed by a beach candlelight dinner.”

Can-avoid
“Avoid visiting the Maldives during the unpredictable monsoon season as far as possible as the daily showers may spoil your outdoor excursion plans. We were just lucky that it rained mainly at night during our honeymoon which was more romantic than annoying.”

Must-avoid
“Avoid too many adventure sports or city visits during your honeymoon.”
